Knew about McLean signing a new contract a week and a half ago. ITK.

Ah. Seems a bit pointless then.

The pitch there is shite. Arsenal were shit there, too. Honestly, I've seen them 20+ times this season and they play better football than 80% of the league. The only teams who play better football are City, Arsenal, Spurs and Swansea. Man Utd have struggled this year, relatively. Their football hasn't been that good and they can't keep the ball. Liverpool actually can, but they just can't finish. Well I'm flabbergasted. You must have an acquired taste.

Thanks for missing the point completely. The whole do well in another club or lead the international team to success is being taken too literally by Messi's fan brigade. The point is that to be considered the world's best, you need to be able to prove that you can excel under different sets of circumstances so that the individuality of the achievement can be separated from the group/team. In the case of Messi, the question that remains unanswered is whether he can excel when he does not have Barcelona's midfield (particularly the likes of Xavi and Iniesta who are rightly considered amongst the best of their generation) behind him. Players like Pele, Maradona, Zidane...etc have proven that they can excel under different circumstances, team mates, league style, football philosophy...etc. Whether this is proven through replicating their club form at the international level or through excellence at different clubs in different leagues is secondary and immaterial. The point remains that Messi has neither excelled for Argentina nor shown that he can replicate his Barcelona form with a different club. It's simple really, Messi is already amongst the best, but to be the best ever, he has to prove one of the above. But Pele played with the same team his whole career who were the best team in the country and also with fantastic players in the national team. Nobody uses this as a stick to beat him with. If you don't mean this argument in a literal sense then what do you actually mean?

I forgot that Pele, who many regard as the greatest ever, bounced around different leagues proving he could do it anywhere.

Good luck to the lad. Although it never said his age, unless I missed it. Dunno if it's been mentioned on here, but the lad that went over to coach there with his mate has wrote a book about the trip called Up Pohnpei. It's light reading but an enjoyable and uplifting little tale. They've also just in the last hour hit their target for funding a documentary: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2028948731/the-soccermen

Honestly stunned to see people that actually think they play good football. That Sunderland game a couple of weeks ago was one of the worst games I've seen in years, the mackems were crap but Liverpool were even worse.
-
Aye, absolutely this. They keep the ball well for the most part but they go absolutely nowhere with it because they have very little quality going forward. It's extremely dull and every game I see them play it seems to me their most likely source of a goal is from a corner or the ball falling kindly for them in a dangerous area.
-
Very good football. Are you two having a laugh? they're one of the dullest sides to watch in the whole league. They're solid at the back by virtue of their negative manager but going forward they're static, predictable and ultimately toothless. Too many players without cutting edge and natural flair, which is unforgivable considering the amount of money spent. Not just saying this out of bitterness but I honestly don't think there's a team I find less interesting to watch. The only player in their side worth watching is a detestable little cheat who is allergic to actually scoring goals.

Liverpool don't play good football.

Tbf, the table has annoyingly got more accurate as the season went on. He still gets most of the predictions wrong, but they appear to be balancing themselves out somehow.
