Fact is, Pardew has handled this situation horrendously and whatever way you slice it has had our most talented player sitting on his arse all bloody season while utterly cack footballers have been stalwarts of the side. He should have got him in the team when the going was good instead of bottling/ignoring it all season long. No doubt if he does finally get a run in the side and does well for the run in some will champion it as a brilliant piece of man management to have had him in shackles for the first 3/4 of the season.

Indeed iam looking forward to it quite alot, also is it just me or has the EL been more interesting and entertaining than the CL this year? The EL always has lots of interesting ties and good games. Ignore the group stages and it's actually a really good competition.

I'd like NUFC to sign the best players available to us. As Liverpool have proven, signing the England B team is expensive and leads to mediocity. If we can get good young English players on the cheap then great, and there's a few I'd like to see us go for but generally there really isn't that many out there that represent quality and value. Prioritising nationality ahead of price and talent is just plain stupid when you don't have much money. Maybe in a decade when we've sorted out our coaching and setup at youth level there'll be more value in the market. The club's remit appears to be buy value in the market wherever that may be and try to improve our own production line, which is spot on.
