I've still got this nagging worry he's gonna revert to his form from last season, which would be a shame because I've always liked him as a player. I think he's a great squad option for where we are as a club so long as he keeps it up.

Looking completely objectively on their current footballing merits I'd have him on the wing ahead of Obertan. I wouldn't have him ahead of Ben Arfa though and I also think he'd have largely got in Cabaye's way. He basically did the same role as Cabaye is doing now except he could only do it when shunted on the right wing. I still don't think you can argue that it was a terrible decision to get rid though, as was the common conception at the time. We're doing well in the league and he's causing bother from within another football club. Ultimately the best conclusion to the situation was met.

German league is a brilliant entertaining, competitive and well ran league but the defending is not as good as England and Italy.

I'm not sure they've sussed it yet actually. He's still getting games there. He's going to be exposed even more now Faurlin is out.

Yep. And this thread's an embarrassment. I have to say I was dead wrong about him. There are many who have posted in here that should admit similar, some even predicting the implosion of the team without him. Don't think anybody can argue it was a bad decision to get rid anymore.

Most of 'em deserve it, though. They deserve where they are through their own failures (I assume you're referring to the likes of Leeds), they don't deserve to be playing against reserve sides every week - just like Conference, Conference North/South and as far down the pyramid you'd care to go don't deserve it. Not even comparable to Spain tbh. I like Spanish football but our smaller local, lower league clubs have better away following than their top flight clubs ffs. These teams are the hubs of their communities. Our league system has functioned perfectly fine for over a century and we don't need to start messing about with it because the self-serving rich teams want to as it suits them.
