Yeah, the wages will keep going up. More and more money is coming the Premier League's way via TV and merchandise revenue. Matchday revenue is becoming a smaller and smaller proportion of the overall revenue of the average Premier League football club. But this extra money just goes into the pockets of players and wages and the ticket prices keep creeping up. And at the same time the TV revenue becomes more important to the clubs than matchday revenue, so the fans pay more yet get fucked about more on match times, games getting shifted around at short notice, etc. It's annoying but it'll continue down that road. The thing is that if everyone decided they were fed up with it and packed in going to games then there would be no product for the Premier League to sell, as who the fuck (in this country or otherwise) wants to watch matches with hardly any atmosphere? It'll never get to that though, football will always be popular.

Why don't you start your own forum? "NWOAT, why's the title changed, change the title FFS, lock this thread, too many threads, not enough threads, why are people on the internet being such geeks". Fucking hell, man.

Aye, and I look like Posh Spice.

Actually, they've just got to the bit about the Taylor Report, which (I hadn't realised) said as much. I was more aware of the comments regarding safe seating, etc. Still though, it's peculiar that people were carrying on last week like it was news that the police were at fault.

This film was made in 1996 and it's basically the same as what came out the other day, e.g. police negligence/cover-ups/aggressiveness, police trying to put the onus on fans being pissed, the police being the 'informants' that led to The Sun's headline, etc. Find it surprising that this 16-year-old film portrayed something that seems quite close to the reality of the situation, yet there seemed a lot of doubt about it until last week.

He's right but a wage cap is not really enforceable so it's a bit pointless talking about it. Also I don't begrudge people like Lionel Messi making similar money to the likes of Tiger Woods, Rafael Nadal and even the likes of Brad Pitt and Kanye West since he's at the top of his field and one of the best entertainers in the world. Unfortunately it's a sliding scale from there and you see average players getting £60k+/week.

I'm joint 3rd? Get the fuck in. I'd have had an extra 4 points for correct scores if Man Utd and Fulham hadn't scored late goals as well. FWIW I hope I'm wrong about our game on Monday and we smash them 4-0. Obviously.

That's unreal They're batshit like, China will look at that and think 'fuck me!'. Who the fuck do they think they are, man? And why would anyone bother posting on a forum like that?

I think we'd take him back if it was similar money. Sold him cheaply but that's about his value now with what's happened at Liverpool. Also think he'd come back if given the chance.

In a situation like that in the mackems-racists match: there are 3 minutes added on, the clock's showing 93:30 and it's a goal kick. Why does the ref always wait for the goalkeeper to take the goal kick before the whistle is blown? Does the ball have to be in play when the whistle is blown? Can see why they'd let a team take a corner I suppose but the goal kick thing is pointless and happens often.
-
£5m. Never realised that.
-
He'd be a better villain if he was capable of more than 8 goals a season.
-
It's part of the game man. Part of the game. His general antics are what makes the game shit. Every match he's working his ticket.
-
I'd score 10 goals a game if I could do it whenever I wanted.
-
Suarez. Honestly, ban him for life.

Absolutely fuming about the Van Persie thing. Sacrificed 4 points to get him in my team and he comes on as a 2nd half sub, fuck's sake. -
The big 6 without us? Aye that works. Mannn, I really hope the FFP rules bite a couple of them on the arse, and the likes of us, Spurs and Everton make our way up there and stay there. Bizarrely Chelsea annoy me more than the others. Well it's not that bizarre I suppose, since I fucking hate them.

Ermmm nah, you can't call them the big 5 with a straight face when Spurs and us finished above 2 of them last season. The 'big 4' thing only started when the likes of us and Leeds dropped out of the upper reaches of the league and those 4 made up the top 4 for countless seasons in a row. Whether it was bullshit or not, it was always position-based. It doesn't work anymore by any stretch of the imagination. Not saying it isn't very, very wrong. Just the way the media will present it. It's a new one on me mate, you don't hear big 4 or 5 anymore. Liverpool haven't been top 5 in any of the last 3 seasons before this one for a start.
