The wikipedia entry is pretty good. As for quotes I'd recommend typing "Wallsend boys club" followed by a player's name. I just did this for Peter Beardsley and found a decent Telegraph article. Can't give link as I'm on phone.

Go to the odd away with my mate who is Asian, never had any bother from our lot but did get some abuse from a meathead Man Utd fan once when we were on the train back from Stoke. Wasn't nice but he didn't seem arsed, seemed like water off a duck's back.

Aye, fair enough. Lack of width-aside it would be worth a go IMO. HBA and Cabaye need to be played in positions where their main concern is providing service. -

I've had a thought. Bear with me. Was thinking that the only 2 periods I've really enjoyed watching us in the Premier League in the last few years were not when we were playing 4-4-2 but instead when we were playing 4-3-3 or whatever it was last season and the diamond under Keegan. Is this worth a blast if we're that insistent on playing Ba and Cisse up front together? Tiote Cabaye Jonas HBA Ba Cisse -
Most of those sort of players aren't in central defence or up front though. Not convinced the likes of Good and Sammy Ameobi can be relied upon in that way. Might be a good season for a few of them though as you say.

Yeah but I'm not saying lessons need to be learnt like we need to spend £25m on Debuchy, Douglas and Remi or whatever, I'm saying we need to not leave ourselves short. That might mean stopgaps, loans, etc - it doesn't matter, but we can't leave ourselves exposed because every signing needs to perfectly aligned to this model of ours. I do agree that lessons most likely won't be learnt whatoever though, if we have an injury crisis then fuck it we'll struggle but we'll manage. It's disappointing.

We just about got away with it last season, other than the few games where Williamson looked to be in the midst of a nervous breakdown.

Wonder if lessons will be learnt. Absolutely no excuse for it when we've supposedly got money to spend, we needed a centre half in January, next transfer comes around and we're still fannying about. Suspect we won't get away with the striker thing either. Also issues with Danny fucking Simpson being allowed to become complacent. Even if we're not that flash then other options should have been acquired on the cheap or on loan. Could have had Clyne and Marriapa for relative pennies and I'm sure we could have had a backup forward for not much outlay. We don't always need to sign the perfect player for a few million below market value, not if it leaves us short.

So basically it's a correct accusation... Yep Would love to try tell my lass 'oh that thing I promised to buy you, nah didn't get it but be reassured it means I still have money to buy it for you in 6 months ' ... after you've sold her car to pay for it.

Would go for Gallowgate, I've sat in the East Stand plenty as I used to get my uncle's ticket when he worked away. Brilliant view but unfortunately it's full of insufferable moaners. Always enjoy myself in the Gallowgate though. -
Well done on your move Michael, break a leg.
