  1. Also we've seen examples like Casillas and Zoff where a goalkeeper has led teams to huge success.
  2. Exactly, it's an absurd choice. Joe Hart all day long for me, said the same last time. Hart as captain, really? Personally, I really don't see him as leadership material. Why? My main reasoning is that I just can't see a goalkeeper being a good choice for captain because, logically speaking, he is unable to be that influential on the pitch. Admittedly, a keeper can inspire his defence by commanding his area well and making top notch saves and I guess you could count that as being an instance of leading by example but I just think that a captain should be an outfield player, one who can basically cover all areas of the pitch. Hart does seem to be a decent lad and is probably the most likeable player in the England squad but he just doesn't strike me as a leader. I don't see why it matters, Gerrard or Terry or Rooney can't be vocal or influential if they don't have the armband on? It makes little to no difference, I say we give it to Hart who is one of our best players, practically guaranteed to be an ever present, good with the media stuff, etc.

  8. Hope he's just giving Wellbeck a go as I'd like to see us start with Carroll vs France. Could see him getting more and more confidence if he's selected.
  9. Stay classy Interpolic. Just trying to keep the feud alive. Nah, I'm only joking and thanks for not using exclamation marks, it's warmed my heart.
  10. Is this official? Officially uninspiring. When's the game anyway?
  11. sicko2ndbest: if you promise to stop using exclamation marks then I'll promise to stop rutting your ma.
  12. *Fucking greedy cunt. I've always liked Guthrie and especially after this season. Thought it was a shame it didn't really work out for him last season after he'd been one of our best players in the promotion season but he's shown character and helped us cope without Tiote/Cabaye on numerous occasions this year. Hope he does well and plays for England.
  13. No. Talks on a new contract are ongoing apparently, may include a coaching role. http://assets.vg247.com/current//2010/11/iamthenight-Batman-Bat-Signal-CEL.jpg
  14. It just struck me, why the fuck don't Spurs just take Berbatov back?
  15. That's utterly brilliant. It is.
  16. Did Jesus tell you that? Not sure how Navas would know about Ba's future tbh. Jesus Christ. I am aware My post could have been interpreted one of two ways, that's why it was so ridiculously clever.

  18. Ah mint, thanks Dave. Apparently the BBC approached him to do some bits for them so he made a start, never heard from them again then noticed they'd totally ripped him off and made their own version.
  19. Plays well with the supporters? Still pointless though isn't it, everyone's aware the club don't want shot of him, hence the reason he wasn't allowed to speak to Villa in the first place. Bridges are burnt at this point so there's no point rejecting a resignation.
  20. Amuses me when clubs reject resignations, as if they can force the manager to stay on. I'm aware they'll have done it for compensation reasons but the term sounds funny.
  21. Oh cool, he can just keep going then.
