Couldn't believe Waddle yesterday like, shouldn't bother trying to have a quiet pint in Newcastle ever again.
-
I think if Sessegnon had stayed on the pitch then they'd have maybe had about 2 or 3 breaks in the last half hour, the sending off didn't necessarily make it much easier for us as they abandoned all attacking intent and concentrated solely on defending.

What the fuck's he going on about, we were all over them. Gobshite.

True, I won't be pissed off if we go for 442 or owt, just think the occasion perhaps calls for more men in midfield and that's what I'd go for. -

Must say that I'm inclined to agree on this occasion, would go for a front 6 of Jonas-Tiote-Cabaye-Guthrie-HBA-Ba, with the wingers supporting Ba and Cisse a great option for later on. -
Even SAF would get punished for those sorts of stories so I'd be pretty surprised if he wasn't punished or warned about future conduct. We would already know by now if one of our staff members tried to influence the referee, it's obverse it didn't happen and the FA won't be too happy about the possibility of one of their members being corrupt. How, man?

Yeah, I know Newcastle fans like that, although a lot of it is clearly posturing.

I do think yesterday may have been different like, he spurred us on in the most important game of the season. If we'd lost that yesterday I would have feared for our form for the rest of the season, Shola's goal could turn out being very pivotal. Would be fuming as usual if HBA didn't start vs Arsenal.

Of course but unlike other english teams in recent years we will treat the competition with the respect it deserves and try to go as far as possible....... My point was why do teams fight so hard to qualify and dont even try to qualify from the group stage, from that standpoint the money argument doesnt wash. How do you know that? We haven't exactly made a decent fist of the other cups in the last few seasons. I was basing it on our history in Europe we always try to go as far as possible, i have no doubts if we qualify then we will do so again next season. Hmm possibly, we'll have to see. Can't see Pardew risking league form for the Europa League but perhaps we can get away with playing slightly weakened teams anyway, particularly in the early rounds. Last time we were in it you never had any really big matches until the last 16.

I think he'll definitely get a chance in the side now, whether he puts in a ropey performance or 2 and then gets dropped for 5 or 6 games is another matter though. Like the idea of him firing on all cylinders in a last-ditch effort to make the French squad for the EUROs like.

I saw that and couldnt think where they have dominated in the last 40 years. edit- i accept they managed to justv avoid relegation for a couple of seasons when we were in turmoil. They were 7th twice (we finished 11th both times) in 1999/00 and 2000/01, that's as good as it's got for them Premier League-wise. The next season we finished 4th and they finished 17th.

I heard about 1000, of them shit themselves when Shola came on, and they couldnt all get in the toilets, and they were sliding around in each others shit, and crying. Vivid.

WHAT A PRETENTIOUS TWAT! Nah seriously, I love him.
-
Obertan was getting in the team every week because you don't dream of interrupting such a run of fantastic performances.

The whole thing's mental mate, I think I'll watch it again myself and give it my full attention.

Been pretty lazy, those bits.

Ain't a dig at Pardew as such but if he'd been in the dugout for 3 or 4 years I think he'd have insisted that Shola took penalties when he was on the pitch. I felt a sense of dread when Ba stepped up, just because I knew for sure that Shola was a better bet.

Lad in the pub accused me of HBA bias ("I know you're his biggest fan but he loses the ball constantly, etc") when he came on but in the second half couldn't help admitting he's just fucking magic. Keep telling him I'm not his biggest fan btw, just simply needs to be in the side by now, especially given the alternatives.
