I think VAR needs to be put on a time limit if it’s going to stay. Its so fucking slow. If you can’t make a decision in say 90 seconds, its not a clear and obvious error and on pitch decision stands.

Out of the starting midfielders tonight, it’s Bruno that needs dropping on current form not Tonali. We can’t afford to drop either imo.

I can guarantee Pope starts the final and every league game he’s available until the end of the season. Howe doesn’t like to change the back line and has said as much himself when it was so obvious Burn wasn’t working at LB last season.

Longstaff i’ll maybe concede you’re right but even this season he played far too much before Tonali finally came in. Trippier has only really been dropped this season despite being a car crash back end of last.

I don’t think you get anything from him if he’s not scoring or assisting which is obviously a big thing but they’ve seemed to have dried up now. He’s had so many games this season where he’s just anonymous to the point you forget he’s on the pitch like tonight. It could even be that his heads dropped as Gordon was ahead of him no matter what he did earlier on this season despite him playing much better at the time.

I’m not Howe out in the slightest but I don’t think he should just be absolved of all criticism. There’s errors all over the place this season from him and the players.

I think Pope’s here to stay in the league and final. Howe doesn’t drop his favourites.

Gordon through the middle made no sense at all and nullified what could have been a threat from us down the left. If you’re going to do that, at least play Barnes LW instead of Willock who yet again offered nothing and had had one good game this season against Leavue One opposition.

We created two chances all game. One of which he was offside for.

£40m on a backup who plays on the same side as a player we had spent £40m on 6 months beforehand. All the while we had a RW spot that hadn’t been invested in for 4 years. It was a crazy decision that made absolutely no sense at the time and is hurting us now as we’re playing Murphy there with no competition.

Just watching the second again. When Tonali loses the ball, there’s 4 Liverpool players on the right wing with Burn tasked with marking all of them. Gordons bitching on about not being passed the ball and not even jogging back, Bruno Hall, Tonali jogging back and fuck knows why but Willock’s stood up front. It’s so, so poor and absolutely basic football to get back as fast as possible when you lose the ball.

Doesn’t look good in a 2 with Bruno who’s so out of form it’s unreal.

Can’t be any worse than Gordon giving it to Liverpool with every set piece tonight.
