they only got players in, as we we're starting to struggle and had injuries And you think they will let us struggle in this league?, for crying out loud they and Hughton know we need some players, but as they have said it won't be a squad overhaul. Mike Ashley wants Newcastle in the Premiership as much as we do, after all why would he of invested in players in January if he didn't, injuries or no injuries he saw that our chances of going up would of been more limited without any additions. I don't believe he is stupid enough not to invest in new players.
  2. I've just seen that Colback got sent off for Sunderland, I'm rather disapointed to be honest, I went to school with him, played with him and against him and like to see him do well, though I am pleased Sunderland had another player sent off and lost.

    Club statement

I seem to remember in the run up thread of this that it was stated that if their was no statement from the club then Mike Ashley will be hated, and if their was he would be hated, this thread has just about proved that position very correct. Some of you on here are looking at anything you can in this statement to hate Mike Ashley, and you have taken once quote so far out of it's context and out of it's probable meaning to justify your anger towards him again. Let it be known that it had been said from both the manager and the board about how happy and pleased they were with the squad before the January transfer window, yet the had the sense then to invest in players, I'm pretty sure they will have the sense to invest in the players this transfer window aswell.

To me the quote of "Their is no plan for a capital outlay of players" does not neccisarly mean that their is no funds for player available, it to me could mean that they are not putting a figure on how much they will spend on players, they will be willing to pay whatever they feel is a reasonable amount on each player or how ever much it will cost to get Chris' targets in, thus not limiting themselves to a budget.

It pretty much says we are putting the club on a sound finacial position, they will not get involved into footballing matter, lets Chris do the job, give him support and shut up. Good news in my view. They key word says plan, which to me means they don't have an exact figure in mind and will spend what they feel is needed, not that they won't spend.
  6. It didn't matter if Chelsea or Man Utd won, both sets of fans are bunch of glory hunting pricks, well most of them atleast. The difference between Man Utd and Chelsea is that Alex Ferguson has built team after team, fair enough he has bought big name players in the past but to start off from he mad them what they are, where as Chelsea wouldn't be within touching distance or even at all if it was for the Russian's millions. Which is why I would preferd it if Man Utd had of won the title.
  7. 6-1 to the Bay now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FT
  8. Get him snapped up. Chelsea this season. I thought you were on about some facts about a player going wrong. The words epic and fail come to mind.
  9. So when will the open top bus parade in Whitley Bay be?
  10. Save yourself and say you meant Stephen.
  11. They should do it more often, even if it means 3pm kick off's on TV. Windass, fucking hell, can't get Jeff's name right and then talks about pies in the middle of telling us what happend. Please Sky don't use him next season.
  12. Up and down on the red button on Sky Sports 3.
  13. The Bay's website seems to be fast on the score updates. http://www.whitleybayfc.com/
  14. A good goal for Cardiff, and a great start for the Bay. Is their a link for the Bay game?
  15. How many are expected to be there for the Whitley game?
  16. Conceivably worse for 3rd placed who'd lose some momentum? Interesting idea, though. Not really, it would only be a two/three week break or similar, similar to an international break.
  17. I think I said the same thing a little while back in the Champions League play off thread, but I do agree with you, it's similar to the Champons League play off system that they want to create. This way it gives the 3rd placed team a real advantage while still giving the other teams a chance.
  18. A 2-1 for Blackpool today which sets it up for a good second leg on Tuesday. I think the Cardiff and Liecester games are going to be more entertaining though.
