  1. This. Keegan left (first time) because he was not given what he promised. He stuck his ground, SJH caved in, club spends money, club gets promoted, Keegan vindicated. Second time the club was floated on the stock market. Keegan wasn't happy but went with it. Decided half-way through the season he couldn't work in the way he was now being asked to. Resigned. Fulham - left for the England job (what a c*nt!) England - admitted his faults and that he wasn't up to the job instead of 'doing a McLaren' and waiting to be sacked. Man City - left at the end of his contract after club was going stale. Newcastle mkII - undermined by his board. You can argue what you want, but I'll always defend him. You seem to be blaming a man for being shafted by his bosses...for being shafted by his bosses...?
  2. Go back and read the so-called interview with Ashley from after Keegan was appointed. "Keegan is the man in charge, he has the final say, he names his targets we buy him" etc etc Now tell me if that was true?
  3. 5Live said it was very edgy in the ground like and said there was a chance of them pulling the players off the pitch??
  4. Still kicking off inside the ground, fans on the pitch and allsorts
  5. Are you actually capable of putting a response together without calling those that disagree with you? I'm grown up, I don't call someone a 'mong' just because they disagree with me. The man is an absolute legend and has achieved more at this football club than some Newcastle managers can only dream of, doesn't mean I'm gonna roll over and hail the 'Messiah' because he abandoned us. He made mistakes, we all do. It's wrong to ignore his mistakes because of what he achieved. Oh, and for the record, I was gutted when Robson left and I haven't jumped on the Ranger band wagon so that blows that theory straight out the water. Nice try. I say "grow up" because I refuse to believe that anyone who was here during Keegans first and/or second spells at the club could ever say some of the things that are said on here about Keegan. It's not only disrespectful but also childish. You say he 'abandoned' us. Tell me what his alternative was? He evidently had spent months where people had been ripping the piss out of him behind the scenes while he faced the media. Players were signed that he had no idea about, and it was KK who had to talk about them to the press. People were appointed above his head and he had to make out that he was happy with it. He wanted players in positions where they were quite obviously required, and didn't get them, instead getting nomarks on massive wages who clearly weren't up to playing in the Premiership. What was he supposed to do after all that? Bend over and let the club do what the fuck they wanted to him? Everyone has a breaking point. I think it's remarkable he lasted as long as he did.
  6. So Geoff Sheard is not the man, it's a third-party? I really wanted more "Shear brilliant" puns etc as well
  7. Well well well. What's going on here...
  8. There's some real bairns on here who think it's cool to criticise people who have done more for this club than you could dare imagine. Keegan knew what was wrong and tried to do something about it - the powers that be ignored him and this is where we've ended up. What he said was right, what he predicted came true and yet the mongs still have a pop. I bet the same people were those booing Robson and those who hero-worship Nile Ranger. Grow up man.
  9. So we've been relegated, lost all of our players, have a squad that's far too thin and are in complete dissaray. Keegan knew this was going to happen and kicked up a fuss - and ended up leaving. But he is to blame? WTF?
  10. I've got the crest on my right calf - looks good in shorts but is easily hidden
  11. That is an obscene amount of money for a marginally better than average defender. Absolutely obscene.
  12. Doesn't matter really because we can still buy loan players after the deadline. What's important is not to lose many more this week. Colo and Jonas may leave but the likes of Taylor, Smith and Enrique must stay.
  13. So they've extended the deadline that Llambias himself denied existed on the radio on Friday. Lovely stuff.
  14. I think it's fairly certain the club will be taken off the market on Monday. Not sure how anything positive could have happened in the last few days to change that.
  15. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/aug/21/newcastle-takeover-mike-ashley-barry-moat Reckons we need to flog three more players before Barclays will approve the deal. More bollocks, inevitably.
  16. Fuck this shit, the cricket's on!
  17. Is she fit? Important question here Mr P...
