Very strange business this but from a masocistic point of view I'm quite curious as to how this will turn out, the idea of a DOF in theory is a good one its just not been put in right at any Prem club (other than WBA who call it a technical director or something) and I'm not quite sure what qualifies JFK for the position but it shouldn't affect Pardew's day to day job and who knows maybe JFK's been watching a load of foreign and lower league football in his spare time and has a wealth of technically gifted youngsters in mind to sign............. or maybe he'll just listen to Carr while Llambias has less to do with transfers now.

Have to say I haven't seen that much of Westwood, but Mignolet essentially saved their bacon last season. What makes you say Westwood would be able to adequately replace him? Seen Westwood mostly for Ireland and he's competent to good but hardly outstanding and I'd say Mingolet is a good deal better but Westwood won't let them down
