well that went better than expected
-
the scots are allegedly winning, which I refuse to believe until verified by the worlds brightest minds

jeez, real word of warning the entire coventry mess to west ham and the dangers of not owning your own stadium
-
that would leave them in a bit of bother
-
and as usual Dunphy isn't happy.....
-
given West Ham wanted it for free originally and were argued into paying an incredible £15m (out of a sum total of £600m total cost to build and convert) and governments are incompetent negotiator's at the best of times I wouldn't hold my breath over it
-
some changes Walters in for Brady and McCarthy in for Whelan (injury I think) hell get Keane the hell out of there and put in Hoolahan and its almost a decent team
-
3 years but in every case so far the tv cash has only gone up, god help them if they go down

I wonder what kind of funding goes towards soccer here? GAA clubs have fantastic funding. I mean even small clubs get so much. Pretty much every town/village in Ireland has a GAA club which has a club house, personalized kits, gyms etc and in a lot of cases flood lighting. If the FAI and the IFA invested as much into local soccer as the GAA does in to local clubs then maybe there'd be more of an interest and therefore better players here? somehow I get the feeling not very much not when theres a stadium to payoff and the ridiculous amounts the likes of John Delany get (and had the audacity and cheek to defend his salary) while under his "enlightened" stewardship the league clubs are falling to pieces while the FAI does sweet fuck all.

its also why I'm more neutral on Trap and not overly fond of the witch-hunt the media's set out on against him because some sections of the media (Eamonn Dunphy) seem under the deluded impression that not only should we be qualifying but also qualifying while playing football like Barcelona despite having basically a championship level side. As unpleasant as the football under traps been at least its worked til recently getting us to a tournament and a world cup playoff which is miles better than we normally do.

You're alright, he's marking James McClean. Fucking hell, that side of the pitch is going to be fucking horrible Wilson and McClean for Ireland, Lustig and Larsson for Sweden the sad thing is thats about as good as it gets for us since the other option is Aiden fucking McGeady who never does anything other than lose the ball and at lb Stephen Ward where I'm reasonably certain a scarecrow would be more effective :'( Tonight is going to be unpleasant

ok who from the club is reading here?!!
-
but hey they won the world cup so why not give it to them rather than they pay every single penny it took to build it and convert it like any normal club would when moving ground and all they really need to compete with the likes of Barcelona is a big stadium rather than intelligent management scouting and much bigger commercial revenue streams and I'm sure the likes of Messi will be queuing up to join West Ham solely because they're playing in the Olympic Stadium...................
