  1. Aye, Liverpool are winning this.
  2. Yep, with Harry Kewell and Milan Baros up top. Fucking staggering isn't it
  3. Ramos' reaction not doing his supporters any favours.
  4. Areet, settle down you smug bastard.
  5. Can't be right can it? Arsenal 06, Dortmund 13?
  6. http://www.planetfootball.com/in-depth/robbie-elliot-asprilla-lost-his-deposit-as-there-were-bullet-holes-in-the-walls/ “At the time in Newcastle the two big nightclubs were Julie’s and Legends. We played at Leeds once and as we came out of the dressing room Terry Mac is talking to Frank Worthington. “Terry Mac is pointing at Frank Worthington going, ‘Tino, Tino, legend.’ Tino obviously has no idea who Frank Worthington is and goes, ‘No, me no Legends, me Julie’s tonight.’”

    Sunderland

Just seen their official Twitter's header is now a massive picture of The Don Narcissistic bellend.
  8. For a club famed for supposedly 'preferring to lose 4-3 than win 1-0' we seem to have a fetish for awarding it to run of the mill defensive players.
  9. No way that's going to be the only red.
  10. Barnes is taking the piss again going through the fine print of the contract.
  11. The whole bench itching to get on and celebrate.
  12. Apart from when he comes up against Big Mo.
  13. Crumpy in awe of Jones' international quality, I'm sure.
  14. Aye. Plus they'll have to release it back as a credit if they manage to shift anyone they've previously provided for.
  15. Not particularly surprising. Had a higher volume of players coming in, even if we shifted a few big earners. Plus Rafa and his team will be on substantially more than the jokers before him. Relegation clauses for those that stayed though? Although wouldn't surprise me if they forgot to add them in again. Wasn't it pretty well publicised at the time that Shelvey, our highest earner, didn't?

  17. And that's the main point to consider when looking at the salaries figure. They've essentially brought forward £30m of future salaries costs and dumped it into this financial year inflating the 'accounting loss' Also worth noting that in cash flow terms we've lost £25m in the year, which is more of a 'real world' figure to look at. so what they've accounted for paying all of the salary costs for certain players up front in last years accounts, is that what you mean? Basically. Essentially said Tom, Dick and Harry are no longer part of the first team squad, their contracts are therefore onerous and they've provided for all future costs of those contracts in this financial year. Means they're accounting for full cost of them, regardless of whether they manage to get them off the books in the future, in this accounting period. They'll not have not actually paid out any of that £30m in cash though.
  18. The massive difference (~£50m) will actually mostly be to do with player sales. That doesn't effect the operating profit in the accounts so they've purposely used that as their headline figure.
