Given how the club has persevered with the signing of this lad, Carr must seriously rate him. I'm intrigued to see him on the pitch.

One of the Barcelona rags, who's often full of shit too, "confirms" Chelsea bid on Pogba, but a lower amount than the €120m reported, between €80m-90m.

A bunch of silly Chelsea transfer rumors lately; I think journos are just taking the piss.

Speaking of talented Canarians, Valerón is back in La Liga, at 40 years of age. Legend

By the way, Pedro's first club, San Isidro of Tenerife, will receive a cool €420,000 from the transfer. They sit at the Spanish fifth tier so it's a f***ing fortune for them.

Our most dependable squad player. We'll come to regret this, but he wanted to go so there's little we could've done. In what way? I know you have some love for him, but he's been below average for over 2 seasons now. Don't think you'll regret it at that price. Huge money for a 28 year old that has been in some declined form for almost 2 years. 2 seasons? The season before the last was one of his most productive since he's been a senior player. And the one thing that made his last season "bad" was not being nearly as good as Neymar-Messi-Suárez, something that happens to 99% of professional footballers. That's why he wanted to leave, he needs playing time to secure a spot at the Euros. He's roughly 1 in 3 throughout his career, for a winger that's been the fourth man upfront for several seasons of his career, that's a pretty damn great return.

There's no way I can't be convinced that confusing "knee" with "dick" is a natural mistake. Huge Freudian slip there

Incidentally, with the sale of Pedro we are turning a profit for this transfer window. I can't recall the last time this happened, maybe when we sold Ronaldo? That was 20 years ago. Last season we broke our spending record, so I guess we're balancing the books now, with the transfer ban in force.

The involved journalist is trash. Disregard.

Huge goal for Valencia.

I see Míchel has been made OM manager. How does that utter fraud keep getting these jobs?

Pedro going to Chelsea will put me in the very uncomfortable situation of wishing well to a Mourinho team. Sucks.

The League Cup is a proper trophy. This is the Spanish Community Shield. -

Athletic have lost 4 finals of proper trophies in the past 7 years. So they can get there. -

I'll never get in the way of people being happy for something, but it's a tin cup... Pretty small time, in particular for a club with Athletic's history and trophy haul. -
Also, who's the lass with the squinty eyes? I can't live without knowing that.

Chelsea offered more cash upfront, so we preferred that. Pedro's family also preferred to live in London than Manchester. That's the word around here.

No fox mask? I'm disappointed.

It's all over our media, so it looks like Pedro to Chelsea is all but confirmed. Not really that surprised, Pedro is the kind of player Mourinho likes. Hardworking winger that will run all game long. Can see him playing lots for them. Sad to see him go. I love Pedro.

Coutinho was pretty great for Espanyol, but he was the absolute fulcrum of their attack and Pochettino gave him freedom to roam and do as he pleased. He still tries to do that (he takes so many shots from bad positions...), but that's not gonna fly for a team like Liverpool, where he's meant to support other talented players.

How confident do you feel about winning La Liga? I don't think we'll win it. We have a great starting XI but our squad is very lacking. The transfer ban will hurt us more than what people credit it for. With Xavi and Pedro out there won't be any proven senior player sitting in the bench for midfield and forward positions. We'll get new faces in January, but they'll need time to gel.

We play against Athletic again next weekend in our first league game, I can see us dropping points, they seem to have won the mental battle over us.
