Actually one of my best friends here in NYC is from Munich and was raving about this guy the other day, but he's been playing in Bundesliga 2...

To be honest, have to agree regarding punditry. However, personally I accept teams taking it rough to us if it's within the rules. I don't like it but you do what you have to do in order to win. As in, I don't consider we have license to be allowed to play our pretty passes while the others watch.

The Old Firm must be the greatest place on Earth to play for a middling footballer. You get to look like Pelé padding your stats against League One level opposition, fill up your trophy cabinet and get to play in the CL (for a bit).

There have been a few rumors of Almunia going to Atlético, which doesn't really make much sense since they are loaded with good keepers (De Gea/Asenjo/Joel) and they just sold Roberto who is probably better than Almunia. I guess it would make sense if they plan on loaning Asenjo out (hard to keep both of Spain's brightest GK prospects happy) and get an experienced keeper that won't complain much if he rides the pine.

If I were Arsenal I would sell him to Real Madrid for €1m to be honest

Reina introduced him as "Spain's and Barça's future", the cunt

Meh, I don't think anybody expected him to light up the competition, so hardly can call Jonás a flop. Maradona flopped more as a manager, did fuck all the first time his team faced adversity.
-
It's been obvious he would not come when the transfer wasn't finalised before Laporta left. Rosell is never going to meet Arsenal's asking price. I do want him, hopefully next year.

That Dutch side of the Seventies could get stuck in as well, with players like Neeskens and Van Hanegem. The total football is what's remembered, but they were also a hard bunch, particularly the 1978 lot. Neeskens

This article misses one of the most key moments in Iniesta's early life. He was set to sign for Madrid since it was closer to Albacete, but his parents walked out of the deal when they saw the place they had assigned his son to live in (I used to live in the same area in Madrid, shitty dirty place full of crime and prostitution). They then went to Barcelona and when they saw La Masia they decided to sign for Barça instead.
-
There's just no way he'd move out of Spain, imho. Madrid is at least close to Sevilla, even moving to Barcelona would be a big deal with the language and all.

so would of their been partying in barca last night, or is that just saved for when you beat your fiercest rivals There was lots of partying, just not in the numbers of a Barça win. The city goes completely nuts when we win a trophy.

Just to clarify, there isn't many people in Catalonia that aren't happy that Spain won, but they just won't drap themselves in Spanish flags and go to the streets and yell Viva España!. I don't think I would myself and I'm on the fucking Moon about the win.
-
Scotland more like. But wouldn't compare UK with Spain, different kind of states. You're sort of a federation and we are not.
-
How has this affected the whole Catalan situation? Are those that want autonomy from Spain still celebrating this win? I'm a bit confused about the whole thing tbh, do they consider themselves a completely seperate nation, sort of like Scotland wanting freedom from the UK? Celebrations in Barcelona were smaller than when Barça wins trophies, should tell you something. Support for the Spanish NT in Catalonia has always been small. However, with so many Catalans in the lineup and the spine being Barça's, support is bigger than usual and I think it's something to be proud of. They couldn't have done it without us. Then again this very same week Spanish courts have curtailed our autonomy so a lot of people are quite not feeling like celebrating Spain. There's a lot of debate around this and it's a messy subject to be frank. Me, I just take the sporting glory and don't care for politics.

If we ever got a team, we wouldn't be seeded so qualifying for the WC wouldn't be that easy. This is probably the most potent Catalan team in my lifetime too, not a real mesure of our usual potential. We have never dominated the Spanish NT the way we do it now, one third of the squad was Catalan and we have around one seventh of the Spanish population.

Madrid were sniffing around Navas, but presume signing De María and León has put that to bed. Great winger, would honestly love him at Barça for his speed and penetration. Has to work in his end product a little bit still.
-
No depth though. Cesc should be in there too, but missed the last squad due to injury.

Never had much against Casillas to be honest, less hateable Madrid player in some time. Hate the trophies he's won for them but the man has always been classy. Alonso is new so I haven't developed feelings for him yet. My hate for Ramos was suspended and will be resumed starting today, f***ing c*** Much better question for Real Madrid fans what they think about Spain winning the WC with Barça players scoring every single Spanish goal and making up the spine of the team. Man, imagine if it had been Raúl lifting that cup instead of Iker

Colace left Barnsley? Where is he at? Always thought he was just way too good for them. His wiki says he's still there.

Keirrison to Santos on loan

Getafe lost Granero last year and they plugged along nicely. Good knack for picking up cheap Spanish players with potential. I agree that a Valencia/Atlético would have been much better for León. Although Mou doesn't buy into the Galáctico bollocks this doesn't even seem to be his signing so I can't see him playing much.

Getafe's coach has confirmed the sale of Pedro León to Real Madrid, although it's still pending on Mourinho approving it.
