If that's the case you did a service to the nation.

I used to agree with the lack of physicality in midfield, however Song has hugely impressed me this season. Diaby is meh, Denilson should be sold. Can't really think of a defensive midfielder within their price range who would be an improvement on Song. Yeah Song has made some strides this season, I admit, but I'm still not sure he's good enough for the level Arsenal should aspire to. But deserves a chance probably. Forgot to add a goalkeeper in my list. And probably a new medical team.

I reckon if Van Persie stayed fit Arsenal wouldn't have problems upfront. They do need a decent physical midfielder (Song, Diaby and Denilson are pretty average for a title-winning side) and some depth at the center of the defense.

The La Liga rules for more than two teams on same points are incredibly arcane. Points obtained in matches against the other teams are counted, in case of still two teams being equal after this, then head to head GD with all the teams you're tied to is counted, then overall amount of goals scored. I won't do the math, but people claim that if they win and some combinations of 3-4 teams above them lose (and Málaga and Valladolid are playing Madrid and Barça), they would stay up.

Man, I'm sure I'm going to die of heart complications in 10-15 years. Meanwhile, I'll enjoy football Massive win, now Valladolid at home. Incidentally, here's the relegation scrap: 16. Valladolid 36 17. Málaga 36 18. Tenerife 36 19. Rácing 36 20. Xerez 33 Even Xerez have a chance to make it, insane.

Big night in la Liga with all games starting in half an hour an title, CL and relegation spots up in the air. Gonna head to Queens to watch it at the Spanish House with a few hundred Spaniards from all regions. Gonna be a blast and hopefully we'll beat Sevilla!

I love U2 so Shearer it is

Oh, I don't think we'll sell Zlatan unless he wants to move. And I'm pretty fine with giving him another season. The Guti move has been rumored for a while and he's been quite clear he wanted away after this season.
-
Leeds > Millwall, absolutely no argument there imho.
-
Guti to Galatasaray seems to be done. Juve rumoured to be interested in Zlatan.

It's a weird article, there's some quotes from Maradona but when it comes to the list of players it seems the author's opinion based on Maradona's last callups more than anything.

Every Arsenal game I have seen with Campbell on the pitch he's looked out of his depth.

Tabloid filler. They wouldn't ever consider trying.

37m wage bill for a club like West Ham doesn't strike me as being too much, to be frank.

I'm on record saying that I don't rate international football, but nonetheless the World Cup is fucking fantastic. I watch every game I can, even with the minnows, and it's the only time I cheer for something together with Real Madrid fans (but they are still cunts)

Torres' overall game is actually rather limited. He doesn't press as intelligently as Drogba, for example, and he doesn't contribute much to the buildup of the attack (give him the ball far from the box and he'll give it back to you or lose it). But he's probably the best there is at being just a striker: making runs, getting into positions, finishing with head or foot. He is a goal machine. Dunno what's happened with his fitness, I reckon he's been rushed too often since he always seems to relapse from the same injury. Had he been fit the whole season Liverpool would have walked 4th. Regarding Spanish forwards in the PL, I reckon the PL favors either pacy "get behind the defence" forwards or big lurching dudes, none are particularly common in Spain outside Bilbao. La Liga plays with deeper defences, and speed upfront isn't as much an asset so our quick fellas are usually wingers. Off-the-ball movement and close ball control are usually the typical qualities of our traditional forwards. Villa and Torres are atypical. Raúl and Tamudo are the quintessential Spanish strikers. That said, I would have loved to see what somebody like Urzáiz would have done in the PL. Luque was a winger, not a forward.

Gotta give it to the Mancs, that thread is fucking brilliant http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f157/woodzyana/berbawars.jpg

Great minds think alike, etc...
-
Drogba for me, still think he's the best striker in the world right now. Rooney will get there, mind.

Was about to post that it would be crazy to get rid of both midfield enforcers, but this is Perez... Will see though, if somebody like Mourinho comes to manage them I guess he'll demand some sanity.
-
I assume Florentino may sell Higuaín if he can line up a big name striker to replace him. He has pretty openly attempted to get shot of any signings of the previous board. And both Diarras are reportedly being shopped around the globe already.

Marca reporting that Chelsea will offer €40m for Higuaín.

Every club from 7th down would be after him I'd think. And he will only want to join a club from 7th up.

Benny Benitez: Parky 6 Benny 2 (Benitez watch.). Inter sack the waiter.
Village Idiot replied to Parky's topic in Football
I'm worried for Torres' fitness, particularly his knee. Two cartilage ops in such short time... the WC is not going to help. Have to say I'm amazed how he has progressed since he joined you. He was always regarded as a great promise in Spain, but got lots of stick because of his dreadful composure in front of goal. He's matured immensely in England. -
And you want a strong target man in your squad. It's an option you need to be able to bring to the pitch. Crouch doesn't really fit the bill on that regard.
