I think that he has earnt his own thread throughout the season. Guy's a quote machine. Now he's publicly whored himself out to Barça again. Ignore the fact it's me posting this or the Barça link, I just love his big mouth. http://www.people.co.uk/sport/football/tm_headline=arshavin-i-m-on-my-way-to-barca%26method=full%26objectid=22227489%26siteid=93463-name_page.html Love how he casually drags Clichy into it What do your lot think of him, Fabregash?

Zigic is for sale. Interested? He's always said he wants to go to England at some point. He'll be 30 next season but I think he would be ridiculously effective in the Prem. You have Carroll already, though.
-
like the look of Bilbao's Julio Llorente but is highly rated and maybe out of our price range. Soldado is rumoured to be going to Valencia if/when Villa is sold. Llorente's a good one, but as you said he's out of your range at this point. Good thing about Soldado is that his buyout clause is rather low. I think the link with Atlético is more solid, although if Valencia go for him he'd rather go there due to CL football. Both teams are completely broke, and will only buy him if they sell Villa/Agüero (which is likely). This Valencia talk reminds me that Zigic is for sale (we'll he's been for 2 years now), gonna post it in your transfer thread.

You don't know how many "Are you a gloryhunter?" PMs I have had to answer Regulars know me well and I love this place, mind.

Anyhow, a lot of people seem to think I'm a gloryhunter so a profile adjustment seems necessary.

Just like Village Idiot stays off the terraces? he's not allowed a view because of it ? No, but I find it funny that he's happy enough to slag off Leicester as "the boring option" when I bet he's never ever been to see us in his entire life, he supports a side from another country for f*** sake. leicester are the boring option as a club. this season they've been solid if unspectacular and out of the four choices leicester#s the last one i'd want to have a night out in. When I said "boring" I meant as they have been in the prem pretty recently so they aren't fresh/new, and they aren't a particularly storied club with interesting/fun rivalries (I miss the ManU-Leeds games for example). When they were in the premiership they were also rather unspectacular side. Heck, even sides like Stoke/Blackburn have some twisted entertainment value as avatars of footballing Satan because of how ugly they play. Yeah, I have only watched a live PL game once in my life, so I'm pretty happy to admit that my reasons to like/dislike a side are extremely petty and solely based on my private entertainment value, and I think I have said so in this board already. So what?
-
I'm torn. As a neutral I'd rather have a storied team like Forest, but Holloway would be so much fun in the premiership. It's going to be Leicester probably, the most boring option.

Wow, I sound like Soldado's agent in that post. EDIT: Did some research, Soldado's release clause is €10m.

All the La Liga strikers that I would recommend without hesitation are probably out of your price range, or just too old. To be honest there's a bit of a dearth of quality mid-range strikers in La Liga nowadays. Soldado is probably the best bet without a doubt. He's always scored 10+ in La Liga every season he's been a starter. He doesn't have great technique or pace, but I think he's just a very smart player: he's always making intelligent runs and getting himself into goalscoring positions, and has a tremendous work rate. Reminds me a lot of Raúl on that regard, without being as good as he was of course. I think the Osasuna fans nicknamed him "Gudari" which means "soldier" in Basque. Sums him up I think, as I believe he has the necessary steel to impose himself in the English game.
-
Too late for him, I think. He's 30 later this month and I can't see any big European club splurging the kind of money Liverpool would ask.
-
Problem with that is that Aduriz and Chori Castro play in areas you have reasonably covered (a tall striker/target man and a skillful left winger). González has had a truly great season, he was regarded as a talent while at Real Madrid but this is the first season he's shown it, so it could be and one-off and he's 29. This is Suárez second season in the top flight and before that he had very good stints in Second Division teams. Decent shout and he's physical enough for the PL, I think.
-
Chori Castro is class. Used to be Jonás understudy. Better end product, but less workrate (not that he's lazy, but Jonás just has better fitness and physique). You settled with Mallorca over Jonás' transfer, didn't you? Mallorca are broke and you could easily pick up some of their players if you're in good terms.

I don't know you, but I find Calcio's corruption to be part of the fun If Inter wins they'll surpass Milan in domestic league titles, which I approve.
-
Neither Barça nor Madrid have won at San Mamés this year (well, we did in the Spanish Supercup). This result keeps them in the front seat for the 4th spot race and hopefully gives them a good motivation for next weekend's game. Heck, a CL campaign would go a great way towards saving the club.

Aye, I think Alves is the blueprint we should follow. Expensive, but non-risk. On another subject, there's speculation that Atlético threw the game against Sevilla today (3-1 to Sevilla against Atlético reserves). If Sevilla qualify for the CL, Atlético are guaranteed an Europa League spot even if they lose bot Cup and EL finals. That's why you should go for Villa, although he is old. Good job Mallorca are ahead then. And Bilbao equalizes. Jinx! I would take Villa for 30m, tops. I would pay mental money for Torres, though (although a bit worried about his knee).

I think it's about €70-75m net spend? Still huge mind, and not very well used. Sometimes I wonder if we have so good homegrown players because we have such an awful transfer record and we have to play them no matter what. Cáceres, Henrique, Hleb, probably both Zlatan and Chygrysnky (still giving both next season, mind), Keirrison... all these past two seasons. Only Alves and Keita have made it. Not really convinced about Pep's transfer accumen, although Txiki's a crap DoF.
-
Just saw Gerrard's assist today. Will he get a champion medal or hasn't he played enough games for Chelsea this season?
-
Bah.
-
Osasuna how the fuck could you miss that
-
2-2, but at least there's more of a game than I expected.
-
Former Real Madrid boy, at that.
-
we're in the market (hopefully) for a RB Azpilicueta's your boy. He will be a Spanish international. He's a bit Glen Johnson-ish though, although a bit better defensively.
-
Incidentally both of Osasuna's fullbacks are quite good, now that you have a taste for Spanish fullbacks.
-
Not a single forward in Osasuna's lineup against Real Madrid (Aranda is more of an attacking midfielder)
