I was just talking to a Galician friend and dropped the Xisco signing, that's more or least what he said "Who's the blind guy making the signings at Newcastle? Here they say they paid €7m+3m... that's utter madness, he's not bad but not worth even half of that, he's not a great not in the least. Anyway Depor fans should build a monument to Newcastle... Luque, Coloccini, Xisco... at last Lendoiro (Depor's owner) found the investor he needed to salvage the finances of the club!"

To be honest, taking into account how hard has been to him to establish himself at the Racing XI despite him being better than all the dross they have passing as "forwards", it looks like he wasn't impressing in training much either. There are also rumours that he feigned injury to miss a reserve game. It may be false, but if there's smoke is because something's burning, so it tells you something about Xisco's perceived attitude. Ultimately, it strikes to me as the kind of guy that does have some quality in him, but doesn't have the will or determination to fight the daily fight of being a great footballer, and not only the match days.

In another display of our great transfer acumen, Keirrison has ben loaned to Fiorentina for this season and the next, with a transfer fee already agreed meaning we pretty much have given up on the guy without him ever wearing the Barcelona shirt Txiki Begiristain, fuck off please.

Honestly, I too see Wigan as above you in the pecking order at this point. Plus it is obvious he doesn't need to take the long-term view (it would surprise me if Wigan got relegated in the next two years anyway, way crappier teams in the league) since Wigan regularly sells their best players season after season.

Just read an extract of that interview, while he doesn't use such a strongest wording as to suggest he's "vowing to make it in England" and he doesn't dismiss a permanent move to Spain, he indeed says he feels he has a point to prove and that he would like to play a few years in the Premier League.
-
He boasts about injuring underperforming foreigners in training and arranging for Lucas Neil to be beaten up in his autobiography. Grade A cunt then.
-
Didn't Carragher almost injury a teammate in training because he had pissed all over him on the pitch or something like that? Somebody told me that story some years ago, hardcore ManU fan mind so could be a windup.

Yeah, if they hadn't won the CL final (fluky win on its own right) and weaseled a CL spot out of it I could have seen them getting into trouble to keep Gerrard, or to be able to strenghten the squad to retain a top 4 position these past years. If they end up getting 4th again this year you can't barely blame anybody other than the supposed chasing pack though, they are there for the taking this season.
-
I actually think we've just had our wobble, no goals in four matches. I do wonder how much Wembley will distract, though. I hope we buy a striker tomorrow. You have been having an amazing run of blank sheets though! (*eyes his FF team with satisfaction*)

According to an RCD Espanyol board member, Nakamura is "not interested" in a move to Boro. EDIT: Actually, the player's also quoted saying that he wants to stay.
-
It just reminds me of when I was a kid and I would play with that older kid that was so much better than anybody else. We would just give the ball to him and he would dribble around everybody. But then if he didn't show up at the pitch that day, everybody would just be forced to try harder as a team.

Wasted talent, Guti. Guy obviously is great but he's 33 and has never been able to establish himself either for Real or for Spain. Not only his fault (has seen people way worse than him lining up for Madrid week after week), but a better work ethic wouldn't have hurt.
-
Wouldn't surprise me if it's the first time since the early 2000s in a league game. The signings of Alonso, Albiol and Arbeloa have balanced the foreigner ratio for them, since they are all first teamers.
-
Interesting how Real seems to play much more as a team the days Cristiano has been out (and no, I'm not saying they should drop him ). The away win at Valencia, for example, is probably their best this season.
-
Blimey, what an incredible statistic that is, for Madrid's standards. No wonder I kept getting beat there on CM 03/04. Yeah, it's pretty amazing that given some of the squads Real has had over these years none of them has ever snatched a win from that place. The commenter just said that the last time they won there Raúl was still an Atlético de Madrid youth player, figures. Still, even with the injuries Madrid are vastly superior to Deportivo on paper (who nonetheless are having a great season). We'll see.
-
0-1, we should have really scored more than that. Anyway, a win's a win and let's see if Madrid drops points at Riazor (they haven't won there since 1992).

Barclays Premier League.

So many missed chances, I'm going to get royally pissed if Sporting sneak a late equaliser somehow. EDIT: And now they clear one over the line, fuck.
-
Wigan is an ideal destination for him. Established BPL club, but he's going to be able to play a lot. Plus they are a good shopping window club, they have sold lots of players over the years to top half clubs.
-
Holy crap, apparently we took away fans at El Molinón and I'm actually hearing them sing
-
And Pedro bags the first Guy's really a good finisher.

Pedro starting over Henry for Barcelona. Let's see how that goes.
