  1. Hell, seems this Espn360 stream is like 10 minutes behind the action, meh.
  2. That wasn't a sitter... not easy to direct a header in that position. Looks like Van Aanholt likes fancy moves, should stick to basic stuff.
  3. I'm pretty sure there was an online comic where Chelsea were duping Mark Hughes selling him the tranny instead of John Terry. I wish I could find it!
  4. I just went to Ankaragücü's site... http://www.ankaragucu.org.tr/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/imza_toreni_haber.jpg Rothen's face

  6. u fat, bald and handsome? I'm 5 years away from the first two accounts but otherwise yes.
  7. The thing I remember the most is that the guys were all fat, bald and ugly and the birds pretty fit, which made me think I should move to Turkey.
  8. Is he going to get the same reception as Vassell? And have they found out that Vassell is actually shit?
  9. That's when the dinosaurs were about, though. He used to have a cultured foot, but the few times I have seen him for Cameroon, he seems to have even lost that (have yet to see him in a game for you though).
  10. Several hospitals in Barcelona are reporting an extremely inusual 45% increase in baby births this month. What happened 9 months ago? This: http://www.marca.com/marcador/futbol/2008_09/primera/jornada_34/rma_bar/
  11. The BPL official site has: Ameobi - 4 Jonás - 4 Geremi - 3 Guthrie - 3 Nolan - 3 N'Zogbia - 3 (dunno how many in a NUFC shirt) Duff - 2 José Enrique - 2 Ryan Taylor - 2 (same as Zog) Viduka - 2 (haven't bothered with the guys with just 1) The Telegraph also records the "chances created" stat, which I always found pretty good to gauge how involved a player is in the offensive play of his team. Sadly they don't track it for the CCC, and I haven't found an archive for past seasons of the BPL.
  12. Can't believe that tranny isn't John Terry's secret identity or something. Scary.
  13. Real Madrid has exhausted all appeals and Cronaldo is going to miss today's game against Deportivo. Coupled with the fact they will also miss Higuaín, Lass, Diarra, Gago (that's all their DMs), Van der Vaart (who's been very decent when called upon this season).... and that they haven't won at Riazor for 18 years, there's a good chance they might drop points again. That of course, means they won't.
  14. Espanyol will probably drive him to Middlesbrough themselves, he's been poor for them.
  15. Wasn't Fabregas part-payment for Overmars? If so, surely a first option stipulation wouldn't exist? Arsenal signed Cesc before he signed a pro-contract with us, having spent his formative years at our youth setup. We threatened to take them to court because of it, and eventually reached a settlement with them. That included a bit of cash, Arsenal foregoing the last installment of Overmars transfer, and - Sport claims - this first option agreement. If this last bit were true I think it would have been known before, I think.
  16. "Sport" reporting that Barça has a preferential option over Cesc if Arsenal sells him to a Spanish club, apparently part of settlement for when they snapped him up from our youth setup. Never heard about it before (and they aren't the most reliable rag). They also report that club and player already have a secret agreement. That would be illegal, but is most probably also not true (since on the same article they say "of course they will deny it if asked" several times )
  17. Josep Guardiola - thought it was a Messiah signing to appease the fans after two bad seasons and mounting criticism of the board (Laporta's antics became more questionable without the trophies), and boy was I wrong. Never doubted he would put all his effort, just thought he lacked the experience. Javier Saviola - thought he would take Europe by storm. Well, he didn't. And the saddest part is that he had the talent. Marc Overmars - absolutely loved, loved him at Ajax. When we finally landed him after losing Figo I was giddy. We won f*** all for the next 5 years. Iván de la Peña - one of the most exciting and overhyped young players to ever come out from our youth setup until Messi. His first games had everyone (and me) thinking we really had a star. He was never able to deal with the pressure and expectations, though, and crashed and burned in spells with us and Lazio. However, I'm glad he rebuilt his career at Espanyol and even managed a few caps. Genuinely loved the little bald fella. Pedro Rodríguez - you can even dig up some of my posts here at the start of the season of me saying he wasn't anything special. He's been quite instrumental for us this season. Rafa Márquez - the first game I saw him at Camp Nou he was a shambles. Slow, caught out of position... a dud. He went to become pretty instrumental in bringing back silverware in 2005 and 2006. Robert Prosinecki and Georghe Hagi - the best players to ever play for FC Barcelona in friendlies. In both cases preseason had us thinking we had the League and Champion's League doubles sewn up with ballon-d'or-like performances every week. They ended being big-time duds. Cuéllar: not really his fault. Very promising Spanish forward than went and had an ACL in his first league game for us. His career never recovered. Alfonso: Spanish international and former Real Madrid golden boy that we bought off Betis for a handsome sum. Great technique and eye for goal that he seemed to have left in the train when coming from Sevilla. He was a total dud. Edgar Davids: only played for 6 months after getting him on loan in January 2004. I groaned when we signed him since he was old and "past it". The guy really turned our season around, taking us to second after being 10th on January (with Rijkaard about to get the sack). That recovery is always thought of the moment that turned the club around and prepared us for the great years we are living. The morale boost the club and the fans gained from that second half and #2 finish was huge. Funnily enough, he snubbed us for Inter at the end of the season.

    Man City

You charmer! Half-backed compliment, given 2000-2004 are considered the shittiest years in the story of the club*, and that Valencia was fucking close to displace us as the second team in Spain. *reaching an all-time low of 6th in the league!!!!!!
  19. Sammy Lee's stint at Bolton was one of the scariest managerial tenures I have ever witnessed. I'm pretty sure he could relegate Manchester United.
