Didn't mean to cause offence man. Real aren't they only team they need to be compared to, I would imagine they have spent more in recent years than the majority of major European teams. Alves, Fabregas, Villa, Sanchez, Mascherano and even Keita commanded fees most teams could never dream of paying. The Barca scouting/academy network isn't particularly cheap either so the homegrown players can hardly be called free. They've bought success, no biggie. All teams do these days.

Just seems like hyperbole to me. If someone were a very, very poor player I'd imagine I'd be able to pick out 5+ games in which he's had a shocker. Doubt I could do this with Raylor. Obertan however....... As for not having been found out due to the efforts for others, if he were as bad as you make out his shitness would surely override even Jonas' world class abilities. He's obviously nothing special but I don't get particularly worried by his presence in the starting XI.

It's also insanity to label him a very, very poor player tbh. He's been relatively solid for the majority of the season, even when playing in an unnatural position for parts of it.

Aye, people do seem to be ignoring the fact that he can, at times, be a bit of a liability defensively (could have lost us the game against Wolves, losing possession in our half. Admittedly, he had chances to win it for us aswell). There's no doubting the positives outweigh the negatives with him and I'd love to see him get a decent run of games, but Pardew isn't a complete imbecile (semi-imbecile perhaps). Would worry that he'd struggle against the scum next week if he started like as he'd constantly be closed down.
