They drew with Wallsall I've been following Newcastle for 35 years and I can never remember us being so bad that we had to play against Walsall. We have had to play the likes of Shrewsbury,Cambridge,Southend,Port Vale and Grimsby and also lost to Stevenage in the cup. Still never been as shit to be in 3rd tier though It must be galling for them to have had such a run and not be clear by any means As I say I still can never remember us being bad enough to have to play Walsall.

Might as well padlock this thread for good now. Nothing more needs to be said about them.

"SOUNESS FOR SUNDERLAND!"
-
This is the reason. The vast majority of the lads I know who I used to do European always, Southampton on a Wednesday night etc with don't go anymore and they've been replaced with, well let's just say, a different type of supporter.

What a shitshow this thread has turned into

Sadly that's them done now.

Nowhere near good enough for the Premier League. Was decentish in the Championship but PL is far too good for a player of his standard. Just get what we can for him and move him out. The person who said he's better than Diame must be on drugs. Diame is average but he's proven he can do at at this level when he applies himself, something Hayden hasn't. He'll be a decent signing for a middle/upper Championship club which is where he'll end up.

Various: Mike Ashley in talks with Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan

That should cool the protests planned for the next couple of games then. Nice work Keith. -
Tbf to Sunderland (and I can't believe I'm sticking up for them here) but tweets like that are quite commonplace amongst 3rd/4th Division and non league clubs. They don't take themselves as seriously as the clubs in the top two divisions. It's a bit more of a laugh down there.
-
Must admit I thought it was pretty funny.

they also know there's a very high chance they'll be playing us next season in the championship, and they already have somebody on board who could potentially show an interest and invest once they're in the championship. As shit as they are, and as much as I've laughed and enjoyed their double relegation, the depressing reality is that we are still shit and nowhere near getting rid of our cunt owner and going nowhere fast. Get yourself down to the bookies then and make yourself a killing because you'll get a very good price for a Newcastle relegation/Mackem promotion as they don't think it's anywhere near as likely as you do.

Would look shit on tv. Most people in the Platinum Club and Bar 1892 go down for their half time refreshments after 35/40 minutes and don't return until 50/55 minutes Would look like Wembley.

He'll get a standing ovation before kick off tomorrow before everyone takes their seats and sit there in silence. Let's see if I'm wrong.

Pretty much exactly how I saw it, the reaction of people has been way way over the top. It is one hell of a U turn though on his previous comments about Ashley not backing the manager and being tight with player bonuses. All of a sudden he throws an extra 20k his way and he's now a nice man. Maybe the reaction has gone a bit over the top but you can see why he's rubbed people up the wrong way.
-
Nothing personal against Lascelles but he's been the one player who has spoken out and challenged Ashley in the past. He was very vocal about leading the players bonus dispute against him and has spoken out about him not backing the manager with funds in the transfer market. Suddenly he bags himself a nice pay rise and Ashley is now a nice guy. You can see why he's got people's backs up.

8 years to the day since we smashed these bastards 5-1. What a fucking day that was! SJP was bouncing!

Sadly this type are by far in the majority.

Great finisher for us, helped immensely by having a typically unselfish Peter Beardsley playing alongside him. Reading Keegans book he hints that he was tapped up by Man Utd before they signed him and he downed tools for us after that. Pretty sure he went on a long goalscoring drought before he signed for them. After that he spoilt himself by calling us all sad Geordie Bastards on the Wembley pitch after Man Utd won the FA Cup and since then I couldn't care less about him.

Already posted on another thread but should be on this one as well;

Lad in work said before they were 2/1 last night?! Yes that's what I got and they were 13/8 to beat bottom half Shrewsbury last Saturday as well! Backing them at half time is also very profitable. They were 3/1 to beat Shrewsbury at half time (I even checked to make sure they weren't down to 10 men as I couldn't believe the price) and 12/5 to win at half time yesterday. It's buying money really.

Anyone else making a few quid off backing this lot every week? Won £120 thanks to them last night and a similar amount on Saturday. Thanks to Bet365s new tool where you can now check your profit/loss I have just worked out they've made me a profit of £414 since the start of the season. Already got £30 on them to beat Southend on Saturday @ 10/11.
