We did get relegated tbf. Not many teams go down and spend money. Our income probably halved in the championship. I thought we ended up around £40m up in transfer dealings for the summer we got relegated?

He's obviously a bit of an anorak like but pretty inoffensive.

In other word Rafa (or insert new manager here) will be getting no, or very limited transfer funds, during the summer window. Aside from this hasn't this fans forum proved to be a complete waste of time.

The bairn has been collecting them for about 6 weeks now and has already amassed around 200 doubles. For anyone with a Costco card you can buy them in there for 55p a pack although you have to buy 20 packets at a time! -

Didn't Shelvey get a ban for that? -
Accrington Stanley and Fleetwood Town.

How can they get 7 in a row when the last game between the two teams ended in a draw?

Assume Salah has been banned as well. -
The crowd were getting quite tense by the end and then the ball came to him on the edge of the box but rather than control it he just let it bounce straight off his leg and safely to one of their players but rather than drawing any derision everyone just started laughing.
-
So they're effectively debt free and under new ownership now? Fair play I'd imagine they'll be ecstatic at that!

Definitely some from the Gallowgate Aye I sit in the Gallowgate and was disgusted with the way some of the fans were going on yesterday. I'm in the back row of the lower tier just at the edge of the Strawberry Corner and I just kept turning around telling people to calm the f*ck down because they were getting on the players backs at every misplaced pass or whenever an attack broke down in the 2nd half. Neither the team or the crowd came out of yesterday with any credit. *Not sure why I'm posting this on the Mackem topic other than it's about shit support and booing players.

They would surely have survived if they'd brought him straight in after Pulis instead of wasting over half the season by appointing Pardew and Carver. -

Come on, man... Other than centre forward which position would you look to be strengthening first? Number 10 and central midfield. It may seem harsh considering the contribution from both Perez and Diame during our recent run but do you really want them starting all next season? I just don't think a centre forward alone would instantly turn our fortunes around on the attacking front. We've a relatively steady backline. Yedlin is the first defender I'd upgrade but certainly not the first starting XI player I'd upgrade. Bear in mind he was shite today and we still only dropped the one goal. We'd be over it if we had any ability to unlock a reasonably solid defence. He was very poor earlier in the season and his poor positional play was explored by our opponents. He's undoubtedly the weak link in the defence. I wouldn't be disappointed if we started with him next season but has the first defender I'd look to upgrade on. -
Most annoyed I've ever seen him after a match today. With good reason as well I might add.

Benitez loves him and I'm starting to see why. Yedlin has struggled at times this season and a lot of teams have targeted him as our weak spot (West Brom at the hawthornes for one). -

Dummet was worse the Yedlin. Agree he was poor but overall since he came back from injury he's been the better of the two full backs. Yedlin and Gayle out of the starting XI today would be the first two I'd look to replace in the summer. -

Awful performance no getting away from it. I've always stuck up for Yedlin but I think maybe right back maybe the first position we need to strengthen in the summer. Finally the fans. Again I always stick up for the crowd because we are the best in the country (albeit we don't have much competition) but the crowd were as bad as the team today. Support was pathetic and the boos and jeers for any misplaced passes were louder than any positive support for the players. Shameful really. Bad day at the office all round. -
There was only around 20k at their home game v Derby on the opening weekend of the season and that was before they knew how it would all pan out. Their fans have been as bad as their team this season.

This will be a far tougher game than it would have been a month ago. They seem to have a new lease of life since they peddled Pardew and 4 points from Man Utd away and Liverpol at home is pretty good going. Don't ready mind West Brom as a football club, they're certainly my favourite team in the Midlands so I'll not be gloating if they are relegated on Saturday. -

Taking nothing away from Rafa and the players, they've all been superb this season and deserve all the plaudits coming their way but it's a damning endictment of the Mike Ashley era that fans want to celebrate a 10th place finish in the Premier League. The way he's dumbed down any expectation to the point where fans are celebrating just being in the top flight is quite sad really. -
I'm aware that the seats are already sold I just find it strange that so many people, all from the same section of the ground only decide the turn up to the odd game (Gallowgate, Leazes, East Stand is always packed). I mean why buy a season ticket when you don't plan on going. Probably just junior seats, cost about £60 a season. Just a shame that there's people buying them with no intention of turning up when there's a waiting list for that particular area. With the turnstiles being computerised they know exactly which season tickets are not being used and anyone buying and never showing up should have their ticket cancelled and released back on sale to a supporter who would actually use it.
