It's been very noticeable this season. I'd say there's at least 500 empty seats spread across level 7 every match now (If you grouped everyone together you would probably be left with an entire empty section). It's strange because tickets are so hard to come by for home games at the minute yet all these seats, all in the same area of the stadium, are left empty. Maybe it's something that could be brought up at the Fans Forum next week., Completely meaningless subject in the grand scheme of things so yeah they'll probably be happy to discuss. Not really meaningless to a lot of people. There's people who have paid out for memberships who couldn't get tickets for the Chelsea game yet there'll be 500+ spare seats up in Level 7 for the match.

Would love that but I’d like to see every player and all staff etc. thanked. It’s kind of RAWKISH but fuck it, they deserve it. Could have a reversible display. We all hold up cards congratulating Rafa and the players and then flip them around to reveal a "Now sell up and go" message to fatty. -

Burton only have 13 fit players. I can see the Mackems winning that one so hopefully it's Mitro who hammers the final nail in their relegation coffin.

Things are ticking along too well here. He's due to put a spanner in the works any time now. -

Would be a Health and Safety nightmare these days -
I was there in the home end with a number of Sunderland fan colleagues from work. A lovely match day experience it was I was in the away end. Felt suicidal in the concourse at half time (They hadn't won a home game all season iirc) then we smashed 4 past them all right in front of us in the 2nd half. The groundsman chucking a wobbler and having to be restrainied before being escorted away the icing on the cake! They battered us from what I remember pretty much up until Chopra's goal. Aye they did. We were lucky to go in only 1-0 down at half time. I think they finished that season with 15 points

And Shearer's final match, what a way to go out! I can't recall much fuss being made by us about the fact that it was the fifth consecutive win, given the 'in a row' thing that the mackems seem so obsessed with. Aye there's certainly been a lot of fanfare from their lot to an extra "1 in a row". I honestly can't ever remember anyone from our side even mentioning 5 in a row. Still if it gives them comfort on a cold Tuesday night down at Fleetwood it's hard to begrudge them it.

12 years ago to the day since we beat them 4-1 and Albert Luque wrapped it up.

Some of his passing yesterday (and in general) is on a totally different level to anything any other English midfielder is capable of. However Southgate is totally clueless so I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get in the England squad.

This whole "gravy stained Greggs lovers" stuff is such a bizarre thing to try and run with. If you're a team from elsewhere in the country you could probably have a dig at the north east in general for being home to unfit, overweight, pastie munching northerners. But Sunderland is the bottom of even that particularly greasy barrel. Sunderland has the highest rate of hospital admissions in the country as a result of obesity, new figures have revealed. Sunderland school pupil identified as worst example of obesity epidemic Figures show 68% of people in Sunderland are overweight or obese Sunderland fans are fattest in Premier League - report Wonder if they're also the fattest in the Championship and if they'll be the fattest in the 3rd division as well should they end up there?

"We are the Geordies the cock of the North We all hate sunlun, and Boro of course (and Leeds) We all drink whisky and Newcastle Brown The Geordie Boys are in town" It's been sung as long as I can remember going to the match (35 years). Very odd that so many people on here haven't heard of it, or maybe not so. -
Bloody hell they were 12s before kick off today!

Whatever the results tomorrow the 21st placed team will be on 40 points. Sunderlands best case scenario of them beating Reading will have them on 36 so 4 behind with 3 to play. Birmingham play at Wolves on the Sunday so they won't get anything there and Barnsley will have a game in hand away at Forest.

Superb! Where is this from mate?! https://www.gofundme.com/wor-flags-end-of-season-display From a lad called Matthew Reed. His grandad who was a big NUFC fan left him some money in his will and he's donated £1k of it to the display in his memory. -
Hilarious that this debt ridden shambles of a club are having to cut their already severely depleted ticket revenue further on the back of some unsubstantiated rumours on the internet, and from one of their own supporters sites at that

Someone has just donated £1,000 towards the display against Chelsea -
All the results going their way yet again. All set up for them to win this in the 2nd half.

Just donated there. Looking forward to seeing it. Some of the displays this season have been absolutely superb so the bar has been set pretty high! -

Tried to donate but those links don't work. -
Why don't you just chuck £50 or something on them to stay up at 9/1 and pocket £500 if the worst happens, because that's surely the end goal, rather than betting on them to win most weeks? I see your point and I already have my saver bet in place should they stay up but I actually fancy them tomorrow. They always seem to play better away and Leeds are playing even worse than they are since they appointed that new manager who is clearly way out of his depth. 3/1 Is a very generous price and there's actually more money going on a Sunderland win than there is Leeds so those odds are shortening.
-
I think Leeds away is the perfect game for them. Up against the only team who have been worse than they have since Xmas and away from that deserted, soulless stadium which seems to bring out the worst in them. 3/1 for a Mackem win is a very fair price.

I love how he's able to walk around and watch from behind the other goal in the 2nd half like what you can do at a Non League match so you can be closer to the goal your team is attacking.
