  1. Depends on who you want to believe I suppose. Nobody knows the exact figures.
  2. Listen I get where you're coming from but as I said yesterday Steve Bruce was probably the biggest joker we've ever had as a manager here. I absolutely despise him. His last full season saw him get a 12th placed finish, fast forward to now and £750m (or £450m net) later and we are sat in 14th position. We are massively under performing. Ultimately the buck for that stops at the manager. If the last 6 games goes the same way and we finish where we are now his position comes under threat, and rightly so. Fair play to Howe and he recognises and accepts this, as it would be seen as a massive failure.
  3. Read some of @dcmk posts for starters
  4. Just use gross figures then if you like. I don't mind. We've spent £750m since January 2022.
  5. Yes some people are. Read the last few pages
  6. Which is why the mangers position, and the job he's currently doing is rightly being called into question. Jeez
  7. I'm just moving you away from this narrative that the rules have prevented us from spending big to mount a challenge towards the upper reaches of the table. Our net spend in the last 5 years is only bettered by 4 other clubs. Then you have the likes of Villa who genuinely have been handicapped by the rules who are over £550m behind us for net spend. Whilst I agree that we're financially miles off the likes of Man City, and you are correct to point out the massive head start they've got on us, for what we've spent we should be doing much better than 14th place and so many sub par performances. That's not really up for debate.
  8. I'm pointing it out because some people are saying how badly hamstrung we've been by the rules when in actual fact we've still been able to invest £750m on new players since 2022. I think that's very significant.
  9. I think the other clubs are all aware of the financial rules tbh.
  10. Aye they were brilliant that night tbf. Genuinely one of the few games I've really enjoyed this season. Pleased they should now stay up. They play some lovely football.
  11. You brought Man City into the argument saying we can't compete with their spending power and I agreed. I just simply pointed out that since PIF bought NUFC our net spend is greater than theirs, that's all.
  12. We aren't in direct competition with Man City though. Not in the league anyway. We do have a higher net spend than them in the past 5 years however (£430.61m compared to £397.78m).
  13. Just over £400m net. £750m gross.
  14. Whilst these restrictions are in place and have hampered us we've hardly acted like Paupers. We've still been able to spend £750m on new players since 2022. I doubt there's many other clubs been able to spend more.
  15. Agree with this mind. Keeping us up in his first season was arguably a more difficult task than winning the Cup.
  16. 4 defeats in 23 games for Leeds. That's some going for a newly promoted team. They've been good to watch this season.
  17. If we can't agree on whether NUFC to Spurs is a step up or a step down for Eddie Howe then it won't work. No chance I'm grouping Spurs in with Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City though
  18. They don't have the financial clout though. They can't do what the Manchester clubs, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal can do. They need to sell their stars to finance new signings. Berbatov, Carrick, Modric, Bale, Kane, these are all players who teams with genuine title ambitions build teams around, not cash in on to fund other signings. They aren't at the level of the genuine big 5, and the trophy count backs that up.
  19. I'm aware that I don't decide who our next manager is ffs I'm also telling you it won't be Gareth Southgate though
  20. Spurs don't deserve to be categorised with those clubs. They've won less league titles than Huddersfield ffs. The gist of the bet was based on that he wouldn't get a bigger job than Newcastle United next. Spurs isn't a bigger job than Newcastle. They finished 17th last season and are 18th this season. They are relegation battlers.
  21. I doubt he wants to set eyes on Barcelona ever again after what happened the other week!
  22. We won't appoint Southgate next man. Come on ffs Rosenior was an appointment of convenience with the ownership situation. He'll be gone in the summer. Tudor was a strange one but he'd managed big clubs before Spurs, Galatasaray, Marseille, Lazio and Juventus, albeit with little success.
  23. I think he could go to Spurs. I mean they could be a Championship club in a few weeks time for starters. They don't deserve to be grouped in with the Manchester clubs, Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool. If he went from us to Spurs that's a step down.
  24. Because he hasn't managed at club level for nearly 20 years and that ended in relegation. You're just being silly now
