Another unsuccessful ballot entry. Only had Wimbledon so far and I'd rather have been knocked back for that one given how bad it was.
-
We were in Baker Street and it was easlily 90% Newcastle. Man Utd were the other side mainly around Kilburn.
-
We very much were. I was directly behind our goal and could hear them more than I could hear us lot. And "most" of them didn't fuck off 20 mins before the end either Compared to the 3 other times I've seen us play them at a neutral venue where we completely drowned them out for 90 minutes despite getting battered on the pitch it was a massive disappointment. Could tell our fans weren't up for it in the pubs beforehand and walking down Wembley Way.
-
It's officially a safe standing area. If some fans wanted to stand can the stewards force them to sit down if they're blocking the view of people who want to sit like they could in a seated area?

Wembley for me was a massive eye opener. As disappointed as I was with the result our support that day for such a big occasion was pitiful. Looking up and seeing the Upper Tier sat in near silence was awful. So far removed compared to our other Wembley appearances, plus Cardiff which was genuinely spine tingling and we went from totally drowning out the Mancs on that occasion to being totally outung by them last year. My one abiding memory of that League Cup final was at HT a yoingish lass going absolutely mental with everyone for not getting behind the team. A truely horrific day all round.

There wasn't. They all sat down nicely as expected.

We'll have NUFC fans in the safe standing bit next to the away fans tonight and the miserable bastards will all sit down and not make a peep.

It was on top form that night. Had my ST up there back then. A day I'll always remember as a mate from work brought Gazza into the 3 Bulls pre match and we ended up going to Pacific where I had 2 games of pool against the great man. Woke up the next morning to the news that he'd been arrested outside the Gate that night
-
Cheers mate that's good to know.

Could be wrong but I'm sure once you've downloaded it, it can't be downloaded again and would it would need to be done through the official resale. Best thing to do is to just keep the confirmation email and leave it till match day or the day before to download it and then if you did want to give it to someone else just forward the email onto them. I'm not 100% on this but that's my understanding.

Average price of an adult Premier League ticket is about 45/50 quid. Surely instead of spending £200m on this fantasy expansion any sensible owners would say we'll just hike prices up to the PL average should they get there. Problem with that though is that if they were being asked to pay what the likes of we are they would struggle to get 40k, even in the Prem. Always been the same with them. They want others to so everything for them but refuse to chip in themselves.
-
They are on there crying about poor ticket sales for tomorrow night's match (there'll be well under 30k actually present) and are saying the club should have done a ticket deal as they're playing 2 home games in 5 days (hasn't affected us playing 2 home games in 4 days but there you go) and yet in the next breath clamouring for a capacity increase. I know we say it often but they must be the thickest fanbase out there. They prove it time and time again.
-
In the same circumstances, if they were playing Wimbledon tomorrow night in the League Cup at a week's notice they would have a 4 figure crowd tomorrow. No doubt about it. That's the difference between us and them.

Massive blow for Gateshead. That's the problem. Williamson was doing great last season then MK Dons came in for him, now Crawley have taken Elliot. Makes it so tough to build anything there.

Knew that was going to be a good night when the Leazes End were constantly barracking Ronaldo during the pre match warm up There were some excellent atmospheres that season.
-
Think people remember the pre all seater days with rose tinted spectacles mind. It was shite more often that not. 14k of us rattling around the place most weeks in 90/91 was pretty grim and it was only the rare occasion for a big game when it was really good. An FA Cup game v Man Utd in 1990, a League Cup game v Forest also stands out, obviously any games v the Mackems. West Ham was usually lively after the petrol bomb incident as well. Keegan coming in 92 changed things and the atmosphere improved 10 fold culminating in the final game of that season v Portsmouth which is still my favourite ever SJP atmosphere and it wasn't full either. Just under 26k there but it was absolutely electric. Remember David Kelly in his post match interview saying one of the Portsmouth players had gone up to him during the game and said he couldn't believe the noise inside the place! The start of the following season was also excellent but died off a bit when they decided to make every match all ticket after 7k were locked out v Tranmere.

Aye Leazes was excellent in 93/94. My ST was in the Upper tier (L4U) and it was brilliant in there. You had the East Corner which would be bouncing then at the other side you had the Leazes Section of the Milburn Stand which was superb back then and the Leazes would always join in with them. The following season they shifted all the vocal fans from the NE Corner and shoved the away fans in there which killed it a lot and to compound things they fucked the other side of the stand up as well as they kicked all the vocal fans out of the Leazes Wing of the Milburn Stand to introduce the Platinum Club. Then in 2000 the extension happened and that killed the noise completely. I persevered with it for 5 more years but then switched to the Gallowgate which was better but not a patch on the Leazes when it was first built. Agree that mirroring the Gallowgate with the Leazes will be the end of what atmosphere there is left.

Her twitter account.

She's a Chelsea fan who switched cos they stopped winning and we look like we might at some point. No reason why any fan who's been following this club through thin and thinner should have any respect at all for her opinion on anything NUFC related. She'll jump ship to another club before long anyway.

That's a pisstake surely That can't be genuine.

The novelty factor will see it full if nowt else. The mackems only sold out Roker Park 3 times in its final season before they moved to the SoL (one of those against us obviously and another for the last ever game) and it only held 22k. The following season they were getting 35/40k every week as they doubled their crowds from one season to the next. That's why I call them the 1997ers, cos around 50% of their fans never bothered watching them prior to moving to their new stadium.
-
Not sure about that. One thing that was very noticeable walking down Wembley way was that Man Utd had a lot more groups of boisterous lads in their 20s, 30s, 40s than we did. Not sure how their ticketing system works but I'm very familiar with Chelsea's and they allocate all tickets for away games and neutral venues 60/40 ST holders/members and for the bigger games, semi finals and finals it goes on loyalty points which reset every season so members can build up points in the same way ST holders can. They probably have a worse supply/demand problem than we do given their 40k capacity. Now I haven't got any data to back myself up here but I'd be 99% confident that the average age of your typical NUFC member will be far lower than the average age of your typical ST holder. One thing I would do if we ever moved stadium or increased capacity is for any extra tickets give priority to people in the Under 25s age group. Sure Liverpool did something similar when they put the extra tier on their main stand. Priority for those with a Liverpool postcode and something like 8 quid ticket prices for Juniors up there. As you mentioned they have a bigger problem than we do with am ageing ST holder base.
-
I'm not even sure it was that. I think it's more down to the demographic of our season ticket holders as it was them who made up 99% of our crowd in the Cup final. Our average ST holder is probably around 50 years old these days and it was obvious walking along Wembley way that our support was going to be mainly made up of people of a certain age. This was confirmed once I got inside the concourse where excitement levels appeared low and the atmosphere subdued. It didn't improve once we took our seats. Far more elderly people than I'd seen at my previous 4 Wembley visits, plus Cardiff and the 2 Old Trafford Semis. Back in the 90s, 2000 when we got there the make up of our support was much different. Groups of mainly young lads. Typically they're the people who generate the atmosphere whilst those in their 50s, 60s, 70s more inclined to sit back and watch the match. As poor as we were at Wembley I was more disappointed at how easily the Man Utd fans outsung us. I mean they weren't even that good themselves but our end was abysmal.
