  1. Heaton Stan 1-0 Birtley. Attendance: 1,235 Stan play West Auckland at home in the Final on Monday for a place in the Northern Premier League East.
  2. It's OK marras. Grumpy old man has just started a thread telling them everything will be alright
  3. Can probably add another 3 or 4 quid onto that for this season as will with the ticket price increases and the Champions League tickets being £60 a pop for adults.
  4. Was £26 during Ashley's last full season. Haven't seen anything more recent but I'd reckon around £34/£35 now.
  5. Shame it's not as simple as being able to whip the top tier of their ground and bolt it onto our East Stand/Gallowgate. Win, win situation for all.
  6. Pewer financial results released today?
  7. That's pretty quick from planning permission being granted to completion then.
  8. Trying to think back to how long the level 7 expansion took. I had a season ticket in the Leazes End at the time and remember we spent the entire 99/00 season without a roof over our heads but can't remember what the full timescale was.
  9. 145 there. Superb crowd for a Monday night Northern Alliance fixture!
  10. You're right it is good news. The way I see it is that will it be good if we can fit another 8,000 fans into SJP? Yes of course it is. Secondly, would a mere Level 7 extension to the Gallowgate feel a bit underwhelming after all the speculation and different stadium mock ups we've been looking at these past 2 years? The answer to that would also be yes though.
  11. Also if they simply stuck a Level 7 onto the Gallowgate West Corner and Gallowgate Upper that would only add 6,500 seats. To get to 8,000 they'd have to create a Gallowgate Level 4 West Corner, like they did in the Leazes in 2000 (those seats directly below the TV studios) which would add another 1,500 and take capacity to a fraction over 60,000. However, currently the Gallowgate West Corner houses quite a bit of hospitality and I can't see them taking that out and replacing them with standard seats so I'd assume they'd have to rip out all the current hospitality suites in that area and place them on the same level as the TV studios are on in the Leazes.
  12. There was talk that it could maybe be made steeper or maybe even cantilevered but that's all it was really. Will be a shame if they can't do anything at all with the East Stand but if they can't, and anyone wants to see what it'll look like on completion of the Gallowgate, look at Celtic Park as it'll be pretty similar in design and capacity.
  13. Surprised they haven't already tbh. We proved back in 2010 that we could safely accommodate away fans in the Leazes West Corner in levels 2 and 4 when we allowed 3,300 Arsenal fans to go there for a League Cup match. I think they spilled into the Leazes central section a bit but we don't have to give away teams quite as many tickets for standard league games.
  14. What's with the attitude like? Someone had posted a concept and I've commented that or would be disappointing if we couldn't touch the East Stand as that would stop it being an elite level stadium in my opinion.
  15. Can never be seen as a top class arena up with the best there is whilst that 1970s monstrosity is part of it. If you disagree that's fine.
  16. East stand still looks shit and out of place.
  17. Slot is a good coach but he's been completely schooled by Peter Bosz at PSV this season. He's a bit of a hidden gem and from a PSV point of view I'm delighted he's flying below the radar but this season they've obliterated everyone and are on course to become the best Dutch team of all time (points wise). Not convinced Slot will have Liverpool challenging at the very top. More like a steady, more or less guaranteed top 4 club.
  18. Aye remember it well. We played Leicester away over Xmas/New Year probably early 00s. I remember our train back wasn't till late and Sunderland v Man Utd was the late KO so we watched that down there and it was a big top of the table clash. Man Utd won of course.
  19. Resale is decent if you only want 1 ticket. If you want 2 together I've found it impossible. Family section seems the best bet for ballot success but I don't like sitting up there and the only Cat 2 success I've had was v Man City in the League Cup. I've tried it this season (not since Xmas) and it's not really for me, hence I'm not bothering next year.
  20. I was at PSV v Feyenoord last month nad he played partly as a striker and then when they switched things around a bit he played over on the right. He scored as well that day.
  21. Well it seemed to have the desired effect (and not for the first time it has to be said). Bruno scores a goal and his reaction to it said it all! I'm not saying it'll be the defining reason as to whether he stays or moves on but surely him, and his family, would be looking at that and thinking he's never going to get that kind of love and adulation at PSG or Real Madrid and I think for someone like Bruno something like that will carry a lot of weight.
  22. You've just described Minteh there.
  23. Haha what a story! I was in the old benches in the East Stand and a couple of my mates from school were stood directly opposite me in the B Paddock. The atmosphere was so quiet they could shout across the pitch at me and I could hear them
  24. Not sure how many 0-0s we had at home that season but at the time as a 12/13 year old kid it used to feel like we drew 0-0 every week! Remember standing in some ridiculously low crowds back then. Remember a midweek game v Oxford towards the back end of the season (might have been game) and the crowd was 10,000.
