  1. Shouldn't accept a penny less than £30m for him now like. Make that £35m if they beat Portugal.
  2. I take it you just completely ignored the lanes, the pavilion and the coastline when you were in and around Brighton then? Have you actually been there? The lanes are full of moody jewellry shops, the beach is a pebble beach meaning those in the NE are far better and the Pavillion is somewhere you'd only ever visit once, at most . If that's the best you can do then it says everything tbqh. A city centre needs to be functional and the lack of a proper department store renders Brighton second rate. Why would you travel to Brighton to go to a department store ffs. This is the sort of daft attitude my mam used to have when we went on holiday. In the middle of a beautiful market and she'd be scoping out the city for a Marksies, it's pointless, why are you even on holiday and what are you on holiday from? Don't think anyone goes on holiday to get away from Marksies mind.
  3. They're only getting him because he knows he'll be able to live in Newcastle again. Fancy that being your main bargaining tool when it comes to signing players man!
  4. Fenwick in Newcastle is quite possibly the best shop in the world man!
  5. No wonder they were only getting 20 odd thousand crowds in that league!
  6. Hope he's sh!te tbh. Having seen him play for us I think he will be. Decent going forward but hopeless defensively. His performance down at Arsenal has to go down as one of the worst individual defensive displays I've ever seen from a NUFC player, and he has some competition there!
  7. Ritchie will torture him next season like.
  8. Would rather we went after that Flint from Bristol City. Hanley looks like a decent championship standard centre half but nowt more.
  9. Went to Leeds on Sunday for the Rugby. Was quite impressed with the city centre.
  10. Never been to Bristol but agree, Norwich is really nice.

Surely he'd make a good full back for any Championship side?
  12. They nearly all did last time we were in that league. Pretty sure we went the entire season undefeated at home and other than the 3000 fans stuck high up in the singing corner the atmosphere wasn't even particularly good. What with this kicking off and the overall general feelgood factor this time round you'd expect it to be far better.

  14. I was told the end of July when I went up to buy mine.
  15. What a sight that was! Obviously that's not going to happen every week but it would be incredible if we could get something similar going for our first home game v Huddersfield.
  16. It's easy to sit back and criticise from a distance. If it bothers people that much that they're not up to scratch they can sit down and have a go and see if they can do any better themselves. Certainly cheaper than paying experts to do it. Let's be honest here as well they're not pieces of expensive artwork bring displayed at a gallery. They're just there to add some colour to the extra noise that's hopefully going to be generated next season. It's not all that important. My point wasn't "oh I could do better", simply that I didn't like the designs like people have already mentioned. They don't have to be top of the range photoshop designs, but after taking 3k+ you'd expect that a half-decent graphic designer is going to be consulted and some simple, yet excellent banners/flags can be produced. No it's not expensive artwork going into a gallery but if you chucked some of your hard-earned money into this and the result was cheaply assembled tat which looked s***, we would be ridiculed and rightly so. I think after taking peoples money to a project it's important to make it look as great as it possibly can. Disagree. I think you're taking this way too seriously. It's flags at a football match man.
  17. He was here 8 years. In that time he had 3 good seasons.

  19. Ribery is rotten in flag form as well. First thing I noticed there as well, stood out like a sore thumb. worjackie, I assume the 3k+ that has been raised is to consult proper designers and have some decent flags made? It would all be a bit of a waste and make us look stupid if we had rubbish on display (without wanting to sound too much like a dick) like the stuff that I've seen on the site. Or the critics, such as yourself, could come up with some designs of their own. Fact is you're never going to get designs that everyone is happy with.
  20. The fact he bottled out of the last relegation battle says more about him than the fact he was relegated twice. Captain coward is very apt.
  21. Would you still 'love' him if he fails to get us up? Yes because I know he'll have given it his best shot and won't come out with bullsh!t excuses and blame everyone but himself for his failure. Clearly he's an absolutely incredible bloke, not to mention one of the top managers in world football and he's already played a massive part in reshaping the club on and off the field. He's the sole reason why myself and 1000's of others who had previously packed in their season tickets are returning next season regardless of relegation. He's actually made the club worthwhile supporting which we haven't been able to say for at least a decade. We know we won't just sack off the cup completions. No sell before we buy policy. No only signing players with a sell on value. Fuc*ing hell man he's even actively playing a part in improving the SJP atmosphere, not to mention the work he's doing in securing the future fanbase of the club. Whatever happens he'll leave a legacy here for years to come. I've never known people be so excited for the start of a season even though it's in the 2nd division and that's all down to him. Basically he's given us some hope, something to get behind. As a Newcastle fan that's all I really want.
