  1. Good idea that they're inviting the more vocal fans to move to the Strawberry Corner or as near to it as possible to improve the atmosphere. For me the best thing about our championship season wasn't the winning most weeks, but the atmosphere up in the level 7 corner. Had some brilliant times up there.
  2. Only in sunderland could they hero worship a paedophile but boo a player representing their country. Not normal people.
  3. Sounds to me that they'll be giving a discount to long-standing ST holders and will possibly be reducing the prices for next year (on the basis that they want as many through the door as possible). My dad has been a season ticket holder for over 25 consecutive seasons and he's already paid up for next season and didn't receive any further discount unless they're going to offer him a rebate. I'm going to consider getting one but it'll depend on the prices. It was nearly £600 for a standard 1 year season ticket in the Gallowgate last season. No way would I be prepared to pay that to watch Championship football. I'd just pick and choose my games instead.
  4. Aye North Shields will see a drop in crowds next season.
  5. The huge paedophile ring that is Sunderland AFC isn't really worth bothering ourselves with now. Let them continue to obsess over us but they shouldn't be given a second thought now. Same as when we had Keegan and Robson was in charge. Bigger fish to fry and all that. May as well lock this thread up now.
  6. Perfectly good goal disallowed at Man City which would have made it 2-0.
  7. If Newcastle United folded they would go the same way within a few years. They couldn't care less about their own club, it's all about Newcastle.
  8. Check out the big brain on Brett! He's a smart motherfucker that's right, we got relegated because we lost too many games. We'd have stayed up if we had got more points. We'd have finished 14th on 43 points if the officials had done their jobs properly according to a league table in one of the National papers yesterday. Mackems would have been relegated with Norwich and Villa.
  9. Only things on Ashley and the Thumbs list - Get past season ticket deadline - Appoint Neil Warnock I think most people who haven't akresdy renewed are sitting tight until they know who the new manager will be anyway.
  10. Thing is they judge us by their own standards. Same as the aeroplane I doubt anyone will care less, it's all been done before. If we did a similar stunt and draped something over their fake Tyne Bridge there'd be hundreds of them gathered below within minutes waving pitchforks at it.
  11. Didn't they already do this the last time? Same as the plane stunt which died on its ar*e. It's all just recycled banter that's been done before. Has to be said the crack from their lot this has been woeful this time round. Now all they've got to do is buy another shop on their booming high street for a quid and put up signage saying there's a cut price sale at Newcastle and they've completed the hattrick.
  12. The RTG Rafael Benitez thread has just gone past the 1,000 posts mark. He hasn't even been confirmed as our manager yet!
  13. Happy with this. He knows that league like the back of his hand.
  14. I don't think you've grasped the concept of what a football forum is all about.
  15. It just seems that we're the best fit for him at the right time. I think the only way he isn't staying now is if Arsenal were to sack Arsene Wenger in the next 48 hours and go in for him which isn't happening. Just got to hope that Ashley and Charnley don't mess this up and we get to enjoy him for years to come. After seeing what he's managed to do with this bunch of losers it'll be fascinating watching him build his own side over the next few seasons. Can't wait for August 6th, in fact I can't wait for the fixtures coming out next month and it must be well over 10 years since I felt like that.
  16. The only ones deserving of more than 5/10 are Elliot, Darlow, Lascelles, Townsend and possibly Mbemba. The rest have been a disgrace and winning 5-1 in a meaningless end if season game doesn't change that.
  17. You can't get a season ticket yet so you'll waste your time. Wouldn't be surprised if they put them on sale as soon as he's confirmed as manager. They'd be daft not to.

  19. Dear me. I've read some absolute sh*t on the Internet over the years but that article could well top the lot.
  20. I currently have Saturday's off and have done for the last two years. I'm at uni though and I work other shifts during the week and I just know for a fact that this year I'll have a clash at uni and work and the only way to get it covered will be to sacrifice my Saturday's off. The way my shifts fall it works out I do 1 in every 4 Saturdays and 1 in every 4 Wednesday nights but there is the opportunity to swap shifts. Out of the 12 of us in our department though 9 are NUFC fans (1 Evertonian and 2 don't like football) so getting a swap to go to the match might not be all that easy. Might look at sharing a ticket with one of the other lads who work the opposite shift pattern to me.
  21. I work shifts so would usually miss 4/5 games a season though work but depending on the prices I'm going to look into getting my season ticket back once Rafa is confirmed. It's going to be an amazing feeling actually looking forward to and enjoying the match again.
  22. One more point; I know the regular match going fans have taken some stick on here (from me as well) but credit to them and in particular to everyone who went to the Spurs game and gave him such an amazing reception. It appears that has had a massive bearing on his decision to stay. Well done one and all.
