  1. Don't really care to be honest. The going got tough and they bailed out and they haven't been missed. They have shown themselves to be Premier League fans as opposed to Newcastle fans. The 43,000 average who have stuck by the club this season are the important ones and i'm sure will all be back next season.
  2. I haven't read any of this thread except for the last page so no doubt he has already been mentioned but Morten Gamst Pederson is available on a free as his contract has expired and Blackburn can't afford his £25,000 a week wage demands. I think he'd be a good addition to the squad as a free transfer when our budget is only going to be £15-20 million.
  3. I sit, well stand, in Leazes Corner and thought they were the noisiest set of fans to visit SJP this season. Suprised to see so many empty seats in Leazes Corner yesterday but the fact that a lot of people up there aren't S/T holders and they stuck an extra fiver on the price of a ticket for there but kept prices for other parts of the ground the same for the Sheff Utd, Blackpool & Ipswich games probably explains that.
  4. I've developed a real hatred for Aston Villa since the way they celebrated our relegation last season as if they had won the Champions League. A more fickle set of fans you won't find and I took great delight in watching them lose yesterday as did most people in the pub I was in judging by the cheers when Chelsea scored.
  5. Just tried and got on no problem mate. Only single seats available now in all but the Platinum Club/Bar 1892 areas and a tiny section of Leazes Corner nearest the Milburn Stand.
  6. By the beginning of last week Sheff Utd had only sold 450 tickets which will bring the crowd down a bit. http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=463&fid=221&sty=2&act=1&mid=2122289822&page=1
  7. Notts Forest are a footballing irrelevance these days. They will fail in the Play Offs and will yoyo between the Championship and League 1 for the next few seasons. Derby County have always been by far the biggest club in the East Midlands which probably explains why a lot of Notts Forest fans have a chip on their shoulders. Fair play to Billy Davies for his post match comments last night mind.
  8. Llambias said a couple of weeks ago that we currently have 28,000 season ticket holders.
  9. Last time we won promotion we sold David Kelly and brought in Peter Beardsley. We won't be bringing in players of the calibre of Beardsley next season I think it's fair to say so I would keep Lovenkrands. Plus he scored a few for us in the Prem at the back end of last season.
  10. The Gallowgate has been very quiet this season. Like has been said if you want to go in there make sure you get your seat in the South East corner part of it as there is some atmosphere in there.
  11. If true then the Boro lad got his just deserts. Cowardly to throw sharpened coins. 100% true mate. Looking back on it today it would have been funny to get the full incident recorded on my phone but I suppose videoing events in mens toilets in Middlesbrough of all places just isn't right. Was a scary couple of seconds though when I thought the Newcastle fan was going to turn on me mind as he was a fair size and I wouldn't have liked to have kopped a right hander off him similar to what the Boro fan got. Spent the next 10 minutes looking out for a Boro fan covered in blood and piss returning to his seat as he couldn't have been sat too far away from us but didn't see him again so he might have just gone home.
  12. Saw quite a bizarre incident in the toilets at the match during the 2nd half. Due to a ticketing cock up 4 of us ended up with tickets in the home end in the West Stand but next to the Newcastle fans. Went down for a piss around the 60 minute mark and another bloke came in and starting bragging to the only other lad in the bogs about how he was slying chucking sharped 2p coins into the Newcastle end every so often. Anyway the other bloke finishes his piss and proceeds to smack the bloke who was chucking the coins square in the face and he fell straight to the ground whilst still pissing which was pretty messy. The lad who hit him them turned to me and called me a smoggy tw@t and then offered to fight me before I explained in my finest Wallsend accent that I was also a Newcastle fan and we walked out leaving the smoggy lying on the floor with blood all over his face and covered in piss. Felt sorry for him at first but then thought he could easily put someones eye out with that sort of cowardly behavoiur so it probably served him right. Didn't celebrate our goals even though I said I would but didn't stand up when they scored either and I think quite a few people realised we were Geordies but didn't bother us.
  13. How many points ya got out of interest? Know a few people with about a hundred who aren't happy at all 97 points mate. Haven't been knocked back for an away ticket since our first ever visit to the stadium of light. Sat in the home end then which was pretty difficult with us going 2-0 up and then them coming back to draw 2-2. Extra allocation went on sale last week to 25+ points and then down to 10+ after a few days. It is s*** that the loyalty scheme wasn't used from the off but you could have still got them after they originally f***ed you over. Not possible as I was in Holland for three days last week and the extra tickets were put on sale and sold whilst I was away and I knew nothing about it. Plus my relatives in Stockton had already aquired me tickets in the home section.

Sat in the home end then which was pretty difficult with us going 2-0 up and then them coming back to draw 2-2. How many you reckon will be needed for QPR? My dad defintely has enough and I've got about 40 Think you should be ok with 40. I'd imagine we get around 3,500 tickets for that one and last season when we were getting allocations of 3,000 for the likes of Man Utd and Arsenal people with 35 points could apply straight away I think.

  16. Thanks to the NUFC ticket office scapping the loyalty points system and me not realising there's 4 of us in with the home fans on Saturday. I have relatives who live in Stockton and they have sorted our tickets out and apparently we're in the West Stand but quite near the Newcastle supporters and we will be celebrating if/when we score. Wouldn't be suprised if there's a few thousand Newcastle fans in the home sections which makes a bit of a mockery of their decision only to give us 3,600 tickets for safety reasons.
  17. Really disappointing to hear people being abused, even physically, by fellow Newcastle fans for the crime of not having a Geordie accent. I personally know 6 cockneys who travel up to almost every home match and also attend most away games and the effort and expense they put into following NUFC is unbelievable and always makes me realise how lucky I am living less than 5 miles away. When we played Leverkusen a few years back I was in the pub in Cologne where Cockney Stu (some of you will no doubt know him as he is a bit of a character) who travels all over to support Newcastle had his ear bitten off by a Newcastle fan because of his accent. Disgusting.
  18. Agreed! Superb up in Level 7 last night. It was just one of those nights that come around every once in a while. Great performance on the pitch and excellent in the stands as well. Heard about all the trouble with the Cardiff fans but I was in the town from 4 and went to several different pubs and hardly even seen a Welshman when I was expecting them to be all over the place.
  19. I was stood in the queue right behind the lad who was being accused of pushing in. I'd had a few so i'm not actually sure if he did push in but I know the lad well that nutted the older fella who was accusing him (he's called Neil). Police were straight on the scene as a few others jumped in but he'll be gutted if he's got a 2 year ban because he's been going to the match for years. Missed the 1st 2 goals because of the big queues outside and it wasn't until I seen the goals again on SSN in the 3 Bulls afterwards that I realised we had won 5-1. I thought we had won 4-1 because when we eventually got in someone told us that we were already 1-0 up - he'd obviously missed the 1st goal!
  20. Word has it that Gary Caldwells move to Middlesbrough was in doubt due to the weather until 40,000 Celtic fans turned up at Glasgow Airport to clear the runway.
  21. Come on lads, kiss and make up Stretching it out a bit far ! I agree. I think the time has now come to either sort this by PM or we can meet up before the match and I can smash his face in. *That was a joke by the way Roger
  22. I wouldn't say it was a joke, more an ironic statement saying how our recent league crowds have been pushing 50k yet we had sold fewer than 1k tickets for next weeks match (if you had clicked the link for yourself rather than relying on another poster you could have seen that for yourself). The moral of the story? Know the full facts before diving in and making a fool of me So you're saying that you were aware that my comment about the Plymouth match pulling in 50k was tongue in cheek after all

  24. My post was obviously in jest as the ground capacity will be less than 50k for this match. 99% of people would have realised that, you didn't but would have if you had clicked the link provided. I'm not saying that you're thick as i've never met you before but I would advise not jumping in feet first next time as it can make you look rather silly. Now can we leave it at that as it is getting rather boring now.
  25. I will fix your poor attempt at quoting for you, some people cant work it out Are you capable of reading? Then you will know i didnt click the link So you're saying you passed comment without actually clicking the link I provided?
