  1. Pardew - 'There's no news regarding the search for a striker and a left back although I can assure the fans that we are trying our best to get the deals done and the players through the door as soon as......ah f*** it; let's be honest I only came here because my stock in football at the time I was appointed was lower than a snake's belly due to being sacked by a league one club and the spurious allegations of being a 'sex botherer'. I've known that I would be next in line for the Newcastle job since October and was delighted to sign on the dotted line in December. As long as I get paid well and keep this club in the premier league whilst reducing the wage bill, Mike Ashley and I will be happy. Good night and god bless, fishstick lovers'

  2. For any individuals currently residing on Eternia or Nanu-Nanu land, may I remind you again why there are those who are distrustful of Alan Pardew:-

'In all of this guys, don't forget (I almost had) that our info was that Pardew was given the very specific responsibility of reducing the wage bill as a condition of his employment, as MA feels that a lower cost base will now make the club easier to sell.' - Golfmag

'A very specific part of Pardew's written remit is to reduce costs and the debt, to make it easier for MA to sell the club. Look at everything he says in this context..' - Golfmag

  3. We'll get beat on Saturday and Pardew won't last the season - bookmark this.

Why, will there be p*ss drinking involved?

    Fetish or curiosity?

    You not getting the joke.

I doubt it but you tell yourself that - go on, tell another funny about how miserable Dave is again these days.

What? Where did you come from. Are you his wife or something?

    No, his paternal grandmother.

  5. Anyone that still has a glimmer of faith or a grain of trust in Ashley or Llambias is a f***ing idiot.

Welcome to the real world of Premiership football. So who do you trust? Agents? Players? Apart from the Man City lot, who have money to burn, are there any owners out there you really think are the dog's nuts? The Spurs boys know how to run a football club but it's a mistake to  think they will sacrifice the money motive for the football motive when push comes to shove. Maybe John Henry looks solid but coming off Hicks and Gillet anyone would. Lerner was looking like an angel until financial reality kicked in. Arsenal seem to be in a "transitional phase". Anyone else pulling up trees out there?

Having followed NUFC since the early 80s, I think i'm well  aware of the real world of both pre and post premiership football, and pointing out other people/clubs who have ballsed up still doesn't validate the rimmer twins in any way any more than those who try and justify Ashley's tight-fistedness by bringing up Fat Fred's tenure (who was a useless shitbag, too).

Knowing that there's f*** all the fans can realistically do about it doesn't make it any less depressing; at least prior to Keegan mark II the majority of Newcastle fans knew little else but mediocrity.

  6. Well, in fairness the club have only known about Enrique wanting away since at least May, so it can't possibly be their fault as it's been sprung upon them. Anyway,  I'm sure this regime  won't let him go until a replacement is in place.

    Oh, hang on...

  7. Not disagreeing with you there but what are people expecting, forking out 15-20 million on the likes of Aaron Lennon/20 million striker? Don't jump on us for that example either. Just curious to gauge opinion of people thinking this is underwhelming.

It's not even that this potential signing is particularly underwhelming (although I've not been overly impressed on the admittedly rare occasions I've seen him play but hope that's down to a lack of chances at Old Trafford rather than potential ability), it's the frustrating fact that we've needed at least two quality centre forwards since January yet here we are a week before the start of the season and we're still waiting.

Did you miss the signing of Ba?

Did you miss the bit where it says two quality centre forwards?

Ok, the way you said it seemed to suggest you were still waiting for two quality center forwards..

Nah, I rate Ba as a quality centre forward, but beyond that we're woefully light in quality if not numbers. Imagine having to rely upon a forward line of Lovenkrands/Ameobi the 1st for any length of time?

  8. Worth pointing out that there's now more people moaning about people moaning than there is people moaning.

Worth nothing that that are now people pointing out "that there's now more people moaning about people moaning than there is people moaning."

Now there are officially more people moaning about people who are moaning about people moaning than there are even people moaning.

  11. Beautiful journalism there again.

"while Pardew can’t splash out huge salaries as in the days of *insert name of the highest paid player in NUFC's history*"

Aye, not like 'me lick windows' ryder to pick a completely extreme example of financial largesse to suit his bald agenda. 'But I live in North Shields man, and a breathe, purely breathe newcassel man'. Tithead.

  12. I wish people would just reserve judgement until the transfer deadline, then by all means, go ape!  :frantic:

This line gets trotted out every transfer window and come deadline day we're always left disappointed. I'm not willing to give these fuckers the benefit of the doubt any longer. We know their game.

This. The line of 'wait until the end of the transfer window before judging' is not only tiresome but it's groundhog day-esque, and will no doubt get another airing in January.

  13. LLLO doesnt even post here anymore and hasnt for ages. Not even sure who Ozziemandias is tbh  :undecided:

So this massive camp involves a long time ago former poster and two you dont like basically. Fair enough, thats a shockingly high % of our thousands of members  :frantic:

Who said therse are posters I don't like? Just because they stand accused of having entrenched views doesn't mean I don't respect them as posters on other matters. You only have to look at the threads through the last week or so to see clearly there are others who, whilst not being in the 100 per cent agree with Ashley camp, seem unwilling or unable to criticise the regime. Got a lot more time for someone like IanW, who although seems absurdly optimistic regarding NUFC at present, puts forth some good points and has been critical of Ashley/llambias where he sees fit. It's those fuckers that stick their hands in their ears and 'la la la la la la' to any post that raises a doubt to the way things are going at the club that beggars belief.

I've bored myself rigid now, can we have our football club back shortly please?

  14.

Nobody, but that wouldn't suit the 'board can do no wrong' camp.

    Who is in this camp?

    More than there should be.

Well name them then, it should be easy for you

If you can't see for yourself, then I can't help you.

So you cant name one single person on this board which backs up your s*** statement? Ok cheers for confirming it.

Cronky for one. Happy now? There's more and you know it.

Is this because he supports the idea of Barton/Jose leaving? Must confess to not seeing much of his postings, sure as hell wont be trawling through to find out either. The fact you say there is a camp where NOTHING the club says is wrong is utterly stupid though, even if you could somehow prove Cronky was one.

No, this is because he has never said a bad word about Ashley/Llambias and, like Liam O Liam O and Ozzymandias, continually paint the club as a shining model of consistency and Keegan as the anti-christ. They are all comfortably in that camp. No-one else springs to mind.

  16. All of this is merely dancing around the real issue: we have an owner who clearly is not prepared or willing to make any effort in furthering this football club, and obviously would sell it in a heartbeat to someone offering him the amount he has put in. The only debate following on from that is: a) accept that and carry on b) rail against it.

  17. Seeing as how Ashley's model of running a football club is so radical and visionary, maeks you wonder how the likes of Barcelona, Madrid, Milan, Man City, Chelsea and  Man United struggle by with their archaic method of paying good wages for top players and, you know, winning stuff. The dirty, cheating gets.

You actually made a fair point there but ruined it with such extreme examples.

Will Tottenham Hotspur do? The point remains - until we actually stop pretending that his model is a good thing, this club will go nowhere.
