  1. How long do we give this one marra's?

    No apostrophe needed there mate

Good evening marra, I trust the 0-3 scoreline has assisted in maintaining absurd levels of hubris in Funkytown - perhaps your beloved club may even attain that top six finish which has proved so elusive since the cinematic release of 'Rebel Without A Cause'.

I wonder if loveable Craig has deigned to mention in his book that he once kicked a young female student in the face? With regard to the Wearside collective, let's not forget that Peter Reid was showered with abuse and warm lager despite leading SAFC to their highest league finish for over 40 years, or those witty chants of 'He's nearly dead' in relation to Bobby Robson. A lot of them will deny it now but it's the truth.

  2. Although by the 2004-2005 season he was more frustrating than productive, Laurent Robert was exceptional in his first full season. Robert and Bellamy helped transform that NUFC side from mid-table mediocrity into the most exciting Newcastle side since the mid-90's.

  3. f***ing good news.

I hope that everyone who was baying for blood, calling him worse than s*** are all sufficiently embarrassed at their own puny intellects. Idiots.

Don't know how you see this as a victory for yourself, if anything it just shows it was all BS and Cisse only backed down due to leaked pictures of him in a casino.

    f***ing cretin.

    No it doesn't

It may have been bullshit like, I wouldn't rule it out, but Cisse backing down at this point just shows us that a resolution has been found. Nothing else.

Sure, nowt to with the pics being leaked at all.  :idiot2:

 You're never happy unless calling someone out on something, like. Can't you just be happy we haven't lost another star player due to our board. I know you're struggling to be happy because you were wrong, but come on. It's good news.

I wasn't wrong, Cisse bascking down after these pics leaked proved I'm right, he's a hypocrite who got caught out and had no choice to back down.

Leaked  they were on the internet for months

"Adam, you're just not what we're looking for at this time".

More chance of Adam Campbell being the next James Bond.

  6. "Papiss Cisse and Newcastle have reached an agreement that will see the Senegal striker wear the club's Wonga logo on his shirt despite his religious beliefs.

"Cisse, a Muslim, had previously pulled out of Newcastle's pre-season tour after telling the club he was not prepared to promote the money lending company.

"However, after a week of talks, both sides are satisfied with the outcome and Cisse is now available to play for Newcastle once again.

"Cisse has been training on his own while his team-mates have been on tour in Portugal but now he is expected to immediately rejoin the first team squad. "

About time, the whole thing has hurt the club and he's come out of it looking like a hypocritical idiot. The casino pics f***ed him right over, he had no choice but to back down.

I realise you are gutted but as far as I'm concerned it's excellent news. Cisse is mentally far stronger than bent and he will score goals.

It was all about engineering a move away or a pay rise though, surely?

  7. No man can step into the same river twice, for it is no longer the same river, and he is no longer the same man.

That may be so, but Heraclitis was woeful at 5-a-side.

  8. Did I hear correctly in the FA Cup commentary that no team has ever won the cup and been relegated??

Yes. Then again, no team that has won the FA cup then had two league games still to play.

  9. Imagine their tour guide:

'And here we have the very suit worn by Paolo Di Canio when we beat the mags'

'When do we get to see the trophies?'

    'Erm...so this suit...isn't it great? 0-3 FTM'

they've won the league more times and more recently than us to be fair to them.

Yes, but three of those titles were in the 19th century with about a dozen teams in the league.

  10. I wasn't aware that Pardew had successfully broken the Old Firm's dominance of Scottish Football.

Relevance???? Ferguson was utter s*** for 4 years at Man Utd but they stuck with him and eventually reaped the rewards.

There's too much knee jerking on here.

We were utter s*** for 2 years under SBR until we signed Bellamy and Robert, should we have sacked him earlier than we did too??

That's received wisdom nonsense; Manchester Utd were runners up in his first full season in charge, mid-table for 2 seasons then finished 6th and won the FA cup. Before taking over at Old Trafford he won the Cup-winners cup and 3 titles in Scotland. Pardew's won nowt of note as a manger. This tired argument of sticking with managers doesn't wash either - several managerial changes have not not exactly harmed the likes of Chelsea or Spurs. It's the footballing equivalent of asking Oasis fans to stick by the band because Definitely Maybe was a good album.

  11. Said he's a lifelong fan of Royal Antwerp.

Who was it that said earlier he could be our new Rob Lee?

I really miss Rob Lee. As highly rated as he is, I still think the era that he played in with Beardsley and Cole probably washed away what would otherwise have been the focal point of our comments and conversations from that time. Magnificent player, I loved him.

I'd love to know how many goals he scored in the 94 calendar year. Was absolutely on fire in the latter half of 93-94 and first half of 94-95.

From memory alone, he scored between 12-15 goals in 1994. He scored a lot in the last few months of the 93-94 season and carried on in that vein until the 1-1 draw against Liverpool at home. What a footballer he was.

  12. Comfortably one of the greatest English footballers of all-time. Sublime not only in his two spells at NUFC but also at Liverpool and Everton, too. Was voted man of the match in a Liverpool game against Forest which Sir Tom Finney dubbed the greatest team performance he'd ever seen.

The greatest compliment I can pay Lionel Messi is that at his best he's reminiscent of Lord Peter of Longbenton.

  13. A couple of three things - SAFC won half their titles in the 19th Century when the likes of Darwen and Burton Swifts were in existence. As for their boast about holding the record for the highest attendance, that merely reinforces their inherent fickleness given that we've averaged over 11 million more fans then them over the years. Oh, and that record attendance was sandwiched in between two home attendances of 7,000 and 12,000. Fickle Thick Mackems.

They are Stock, Aitken and Waterman to our Stax, Lee Hurst to our Lenny Bruce and what kills them the most is that barely anyone outside of their sordid cesspit gives a flying fuck about them or their football team.

  14. the seat counting shenanagins on rtg are f***ing hilarious. if they get a bigger crowd than us this week , it will be like winning the world cup for them.

Must have been a terribly inclement night when they played in front of 7,500 hardy souls for the visit of Preston North End in 1995 in a league cup tie, or that stormy night a few years back when they played host to Colchester in front of 13,000 diehards in the very same competition.

    ForgoTheMatch...

  15. I know f*** all about darts. Whitlock and Taylor to win at 11/10 enhanced from 10/11. Worth the trouble?

Loving this keeping track business. Nearly £60 up since I started keeping track of all bets 10 days ago. Nearly £80 if I don't factor in £20 of my stakes was a free bet.

I won't love it when I'm down. :yao:

Taylor should win comfortably and Whitlock is better than Hamilton, but Hamilton seems to have the indian sign over Whitlock.
