Probably wont happen. He might say it one more time when the tournament ends, then come out 6 months from now and say it's not happening. At that point, all the emotion will have gone away from the big missed calls so far and no one will care as much.

Should hoy it on the box over here, gets f*** all coverage. Would imagine its equal at least to the African Cup. At least people probably turn up to games/don't get shot/etc etc. I think even from a neutral's standpoint it's the most interesting continental tournament anywhere save Euros as you literally have no idea who will win before it actually starts. South Korea/Japan/China/Australia and 2039489023854 random Arabs are all in with a chance. No nation has won more than three times, we haven't since 1960. Iraq won in 2007 which was an immense story considering their situation. You also get to see some absurd minnows like Turkmenistan or Vietnam come and play against established teams like Korea/Japan/Iran/Saudi Arabia, which is always interesting. I'd probably consider it the third best continental tournament. Asian teams always surprise me in their quality and entertainment. Most people would probably put ACoN above it, but I can't stand it every two years, just continues to show how far Africa still has to come from a footballing standpoint. Unfortunately, no way I'll be watching it, going to be going on from like 3 in the morning over here.

This is a problem in America as well. For one, our biggest youth league is just something to allow kids to have fun and learn sportsmanship. But, with kids serious about getting better, there's not a general training idea, there's no organization. The main thing that's stressed is team work and winning, most of our practices are spent working on tactics and dead ball situations. We might spend twenty minutes a day, if that at the older levels, working on foot skills, touch, trapping, etc. There's should be a set training philosophy that the country stresses, and it should mainly focus on working on foot skills and technical ability for kids under 13/14, with a little work on teamwork. And that point, once kids have developed enough you can start focusing on everything else.

I'm aiming to be the highest American in the rankings. Still have about 5 to go this round and have an above average score. It's happening.

Pretty sure every goalie in this tournament has made a mistake leading up to a goal. It hasn't been pretty for anyone.

Good that you put HOnda in. Isn't he more of a striker though? Possibly, always thought he was in the midfield, maybe not though. I'll make a more researched team when it all ends.
