  1. What are you on about? We're in April FFS. It's June 9th, the world cup starts on Friday. You are all joking aren't you. Are you on drugs? Your calender must be missing some pages.
  2. Yep, very tough group to call with any certainty although I think Mexico and Uruguay might just squeeze through. I've been racking my brain about Group A for a week now. Could be any of them who come out.
  3. Oscar Cardoza, Matias Fernandez, and Alexis Sanchez. Then a few others for me individually, Martins, Saurez, Dos Santos, and North Korea in general.
  4. Being an American I had to pick. I wanted to avoid the Big 4, but wasn't going to ignore a club if I had feelings for them. I did research, watched old games, stuff like that. Honestly, it was always going to be Newcastle. From the minutes I started the search they were in my head, everything else just confirmed it.
  5. Shit, that was one of the most fake things I've ever seen.
  6. What a game, it must go down in England folklore. Just fantastic from both sides, and the refs. This is why I love football. :colo:
  7. In fairness though, most of the population of America has come from elsewhere, and still live in a culture brought from where ever by the family members that went to America looking for 'Freedom'. In my eyes, America has yet to forge a real culture and way of thinking of its own other than the Republican, American dream, I like shooting etc. which is really an English purist/selfish/rebel against socialism way of thinking. To say its ridiculous for 'American's' to support other country's is stupid mindless nationalistic talk. You say its outrageous to support any country other than your own, I say its outrageous to support something just because you happened to be born where ever you happened to be born, especially as a vast population of America only decided to go there for what they thought was a better life, it wasn't really a desire to join 'their culture'. Eg. So if a 3rd Generation Mexican immigrant, born in America but Grandparents born in Mexico, they've held onto their old culture within their family and friends and community, why shouldn't they support Mexico? You make a fair point, but in the specific situation I was referring to involved a 1st Generation Brazilian, which I certainly thought was acceptable. Then a kid with Polish origins I believe, who claimed to support Brazil because Ronaldinho was his favorite player as a kid. That's also odd, as he was 16 when Ronaldinho became a star. Then everyone else who came into the conversation seemed to think you can support any country you want.
  8. I would've never thought SA could get out of their group at first, but Mexico are a bit too inconsistent and France have been dogshit with Domenech. Like said, they've hit a good run of form, and will obvious have the added advantage of playing at home.
  9. I would expect most Tottenham fans hope Palacios is out for a while, as shit as he is.
  10. I like the little kids sitting right on the sideline.
  11. I'm certain I've said the same thing each of the last two summers.
  12. One of my mates was born in Scotland, then moved to Newcastle when he was 6 months old. He's a toon fan but fiercely Scottish and rightly so. That's the way it should be imo, no way i'd dump my Country to support another, even part support, no chance. Any self respecting Englishman hates the Ozzies just as the Scotsman hate the English and well just about everyone. I wish you could come over here one time, I'd introduce you to the people who cheered for Brazil over the US in the Confed Cup final, and the people who supported them saying you can be a fan of whoever you want. Dreadful, just dreadful.
  13. Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks Mikel is average at best. Once heard a guy over here say he's going to "revolutionize the holding mid position."
  14. What's this all about then? Anybody want a steak with a side of Democracy?
  15. If Robbie Findley had any idea how to lay this game he'd be a really good player.
  16. Robbie Findley has absolutely not end product. He's gotta put that away. That said, whoever was on the post there has to keep the ball out. 1-1.
  17. Jozy Altidore should be okay, he's not playing in our last friendly today, but has trained well and looked like he was moving well in warm-ups. The only thing I worry about is in inflaming at sometime throughout the tournament.
  18. Oh, and in nightclubs, and with golf clubs etc. And when holding a chair in the vicinity of John Carver. Pretty sure most people have a problem then.
  19. The MLS has used it all season, as have I few other leagues I believe.
  20. My friend actually has the ball, haven't kicked it around yet because we're too afraid to put something so sacred on such dirty ground. Whenever we do get around to it I'm interested to see how it moves.
  21. Dawson probably won't play, but he should. Much better than King and Upson.
  22. Seriously, the Drogs one is really annoying to me. Don't even really like the guy on the field, but he's fun to watch. He really should be playing, this football, no use for an arm anyway. Hopefully the injuries stop here.
  23. Great play by that Chinese defender, thought there was no way he couldn't score.
  24. http://i50.tinypic.com/rkr9ef.png Didn't want to pick on of the many great Argentina attackers as I have no clue who will be playing.
