What winds me up about duff is how he obviously feels so hard done by. As i mentioned above, that game he had against for fulham was better than any performance he ever had in a black and white shirt. Due entirely to the fact that he wanted it so bad, and his work rate that day was immense. Add to that the rediculous goal celebration, i was fuming. I mean seriously, what was he so pissed off about. He was a failure on tynside and he jumped ship the first chance he got. Who's more entitled to be pissed off?

Duff is an entirely different kettle of fish. He rarely had a good game for us, was never anywhere near "cult hero" status, and seemingly gained a massive chip on his shoulder when he left. As dislplayed in his performance against us last year. And another thing, if duffer had ran his knackers off and played for us, the way he did against us then maybe we'd have stayed up.

The more i see and read about this kid the more i like the look of him. However, if we were to sign him it wouldn't be to warm the bench. And as much as a tiote / matuidi / cabaye midfield trio appeals to me i worry we're looking extremely lightweight.

I'd go to £15mil for Sturridge, maybe a little more if i was feeling horny. Liverpool probably value him at £45mil

If henderson is worth £20mil then sturridge is probably double that. Realisticly though, when you're not a scouser, i'd reckon £18mil could get him.

Maybe it's just me but Bassong seems to have gone backwards since he left us. Which makes me think he was the glitter on the turd, as far as our back four went. And perhaps he was never really that good. So no.

In all honesty, i prefer our current approach. You could argue, successfully, that in years gone by the likes of Nolan, Joey and Jose would all now be signed up to cushy long term deals. And while this is obviously what we all want(ed), the same policy would see a bunch of Owens and Vidukas also at the club. And the old policy got us nowhere.
