    Steve McClaren

Making tactical changes/subs during the game or at half time, basically. Ah right. The opposite of Alan Pardew then who faxes his substitutions in of a Thursday lunchtime. Then next Thursday he photocopies lasts weeks fax.

At the risk of sounding even thicker than I normally do, what makes a good game manager?

There's a brilliant scene in Auf Wiedersehen Pet where Barry is explaining about pheromones in piss, always makes me think of those bogs.

Were those bogs just troughs that drained into nowhere?
  5. I think that Wessex League was one he played on his xbox.

More importantly, what was he listening to?

    Steve McClaren

He'll be lucky to get player sales re-invested.

    Steve McClaren

My feelings on the subject. I'd have preferred a better coach but unless Ashley backs the new man fully, which he won't, it's all irrelevant anyway. I'll be watching non league football come August and NUFC under Ashley can do whatever they and their remaining fans like.

    Steve McClaren

Come on, man. Even if by some miracle that were to happen, you know damn well they'd all be sold off again within a season or two and the cupboard would be as barren as it is now. I'm not in a position to tell anyone what they should or shouldn't do regarding season tickets, having never been a holder myself, but I can't imagine a world in which I'd buy in while Ashley is still the owner. Thats what I was getting at. McClaren is no world beater but he's definately an improvement on Pardew. But it wouldn't matter if we'd signed Garde, Jemez, or Mourinho for that matter if Mike Ashley is still throttling the life out of the club.

    Steve McClaren

I wanted Garde but I'm not pissed off at signing McClaren. Out of all the managers we've been linked with he's arguably the man best suited to reap rewards from the way the clubs transfer policy works. I think if Carr could hand McClaren another group of players equal in quality to Cabaye, Debuchy, Yanga Mbiwa, Ben Arfa, Marveaux, Santon, etc then I'd do a 180 degree turn and buy a season ticket for next year. So assuming McClaren signs, we now have a manager who can work within our transfer policy. He should be able to get the most out of our current squad, or at least more than Pardew did. And he isn't a grade a cunt who makes you want to punch the telly every time he comes on. I'd be reasonably happy with the appointment if Mike Ashley would spend the rest of the summer NOT selling the likes of Sissoko, but bringing in proven quality players to play along side him. But let's face it that ain't happening.
  13. So much hope in these last few pages.
  14. So is Vieira generally thought of as a better prospective manager than Paul Clement?
  15. If Cabaye is available for £10 million why the fuck are we not trying to buy him?

They're all drinking in their seats in the ground too.
  17. I'd love to see this guy get the job. Based on absolutely nothing I think he'll turn out to be class.
  18. Why risk having a relegation on his cv? Utterly pathetic comment How's it a pathetic comment? McClaren didn't want the job when the club had hit the rocks. Hardly a ringing endorsement if we are in a relegation battle with him at the helm next season. He's shit and a bottler, it would have took balls to take us with 3 games left, and he didn't have the courage to take on the challenge. It's not a pathetic comment, but neither is McClaren a bottler. If we're in a relegation scrap next may it'll be McClarens fault but this season was entirely somebody else's fault, you can't criticise a bloke for not jumping onto a sinking ship! The only time you'll ever get a sane manager to do that I'd by throwing money at him, and you know how our owner feels about throwing money around.
  19. He'd he taking a pay cut too mind. Quitting Man City's U15s to take our managers job.
  20. I'd take Vieira and his lack of experience over Carver and his lack of talent, any day of the week. But it's just too far fetched.
  21. If Vieras our next manager I'll drink my own piss.
  22. Personally I'd go for Klopp. But if I were in charge the club would be allowed to spend it's own money, thus avoiding the need to play Janmaat at CB and the nailed on relegation battle that comes with that lack of investment. The same lack of investment that'll hinder us in hiring a coach who isn't a complete fucking mong.

    John Carver

I reckon the club will leak a rumour every couple of weeks over the summer. Maybe even go through the charade of interviewing a candidate or two. But when the new season starts Carver will be in charge.

    Ryan Taylor

I wasn't trying to argue his case at all. I just thought the club would view him as a guy who could back up several positions, so in the club's eyes would be worth keeping hold of.

    Ryan Taylor

I'd say nobody at the club has a clue how next seasons squad will look. So to see Ryan Taylor who can play multiple positions released, have to say I'm shocked at that.
