Knee injury and out for a few weeks, maybe a month? There's no way McClaren can get us out of the hole with this now. Sack McClaren and get someone who will know how to compensate not having Mitro now. McClaren won't have a fucking clue what to do.

For their sake, hope they automatically go to the group stages instead of finishing 4th and going through a playoff. It's a shame when a team has a great season but then get knocked in the playoffs before the competition proper begins. Southampton in the Europa League this season being an example.

Hope this Arry talk stops like. It came from that bagpipe Alan Brazil. Arry's not coming even though it seems logical until the end of the season. The key to all of this is how desperate is Ashley for the Tv money. If he wants it so bad and he thinks there's a big chance of him missing out on it, then he will really need to get rid of McClaren and get a genuine quality replacement in who can quickly fix the team and avoid the drop. Others here have said that Ashley has f***ed up the replacements a number of times before. The only difference now is the risk is bigger now and it's a massive gamble to go with someone unproven or a cheap alternative. He also probably knows it'd be harder coming straight back up in the near future. Biggest decision of his time here in my opinion.

Nah, can't be right mate. We have a friendly there on Saturday.
-
In a way, this 18 day gap has been a reprieve for McClaren in that not much protest or anger could be vented after that mauling on Saturday. If the Man City game was still on, think he would be out of a job the next morning. It's all up to Ashley to realise this and take advantage of the long break.
-
What's the point of giving him 2 home games? As if we'll win the 2 away games. If I'm right, our fixtures are Stoke (a), AFCB (H), Leicester (A) and mackems (H). To wait until after the derby is suicidal.
-
Is Mbemba back for the Stoke game? Can't stand this grey tart playing again.
-
For once Mike, I hope you stay your greedy bastard way and sack McClaren for putting your new Tv money in August in jeopardy. Sack him, get someone in that can bring you the love of your life- money!
-
Well, you could twist that in another way. He appointed him on a long contract and to the board in hope that it would be a fresh start after the Pardew/Carver era and after just escaping the drop on the last day last season. The first signs that Ashley was getting nervy was letting us be the biggest spenders in the league, if not Europe this past January. He would have hoped that giving McClaren the money to spend on players McClaren wanted, again another sign as Pardew wasn't trusted as much, would atleast steer the club away from danger. Things haven't improved. And won't improve under McClaren. Like others have said, why wait for another defeat at Stoke to sack him when it could be done now? Unless Ashley gets the replacement ready during this 18 days and wait for the inevitable loss at Stoke.
-
I'm a bit more confident that Ashley will sack this bag of patatoes compared to Ashley sacking Pardew. All because of the fat bastard's greed for the new tv money. He's going to do it but hoping he does it quickly before anymore defeats and it's too late.

The only piece I found about anything near to McClaren getting the boot apart from that article in the Chronicle yesterday. http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/2616522-insider-buzz-steve-mcclaren-in-danger-of-axe-at-struggling-newcastle-united
-
Came across at least 1 report today of him potentially getting the sack. Need the media to start realising the money he has spent and use it against him. Atleast Carver has said it.
-
Yep, you've missed a whole week there. It's 18 days gap not the usual 7-10. Sticking with my gut feeling that Ashley will do something against the odds and sack McClaren out of pure desperation not to miss that new Tv money. However, I feel the sacking won't be now but after another 3 straight defeats after the break and before the derby. By then, it might already be too late though.
-
Keegan then. But I'm afraid he has been away too long to get to grips with how the game is now.
-
Wahey! Spurs could have been level top of the table tonight or at worse a point behind Leicester had it not been for Mitrovic and Ayoze stealing the points off them down at the Lane earlier this season.
-
Alison bender?
-
Gut feeling is when we're desperate and down, Ashley will bite the bullet and sack McClaren but it won't be now which is a shame but that's how Ashley is.
-
The fuck is Colback doing there in the Spurs end?
-
The fuck is he thinking?
-
The situation is getting desperate this time around for Ashley though. Relegation and he misses out on the lucrative new Tv money. Clutching straws more than ever now but that's the only hope I have left in the club. McClaren has been spared the abuse and hounding of from the fans at the level of the protest Pardew faced. Think he might not be able to take that kind of heat seeing his past record.
-
There's not been 1 single report since yesterday's game questioning McClaren's future or any potential change in that position in the media. At least none that I'm aware of.
-
At the moment? So there's a possibility to change with 4 games to go then? Yeah Lee. Shut up. If there was a time Mike makes big decisions, it's time like an 18 day break that is most likely for him to do it.
-
Dreamt that last night. McClaren wasn't allowed to board the plane as his ticket was cancelled by Ashley on the way to the airport and sacked too.
-
Damn Coutinho reminds me so much of Ben Arfa.

We only drew at home to Villa in monsoon conditions? We're so shit.
