This Charnley-McClaren meeting taking place right now? That's what I think I heard from SSN just now.
-
McClaren should have been p*ssed since Saturday teatime. Surely he must have known that he was a deadman walking with all the rumours going around. Fair enough that he's not walking out as he wants his last payday. He might have been delusional for thinking that he would get to keep the job but guess that tomorrow's press conference postpontment broke the camel's back.
-
f*** it Penn. Just went back to your post on Pardew and a simple 'He's gone' post sent this place into meltdown. And I come back to this thread to see you say that?
-
The amount of on here when its announced McClaren sacked followed by statement stating David Moyes to take over for 10 games or Nigel Pearson signs a 3 year deal with the club.
-
well done! You've just jinxed it man!
-
Can only think that they're 'preparing' paperwork to bin him now. He's definitely gone like. There wouldn't be a reason to postpone the press conference if they are sticking with him for a few days before eventually sacking him. Don't know how McClown can still be around people who he knows are going to fire hi. He should just walk up to them and ask to get fired!
-
Absolutely funny that the journos have been quiet today.
-
Looks like a super slow day today. Even the journos have run out of idea what to clickbait. 48 hours? Yeah righto!
-
Think that's fair enough but make sure he gets the job permenantly should we stay up. So we have a pre-game press conference on Thursday? Get ready McClaren!
-
Said it before. Have a guess what page we'll be on until we get confirmation whether he's sacked or backed. Im going 666 because I'm sick of having to refresh since Saturday evening.
-
Wouldn't it be stupid and foolish of Benitez if he was to sign a contract without anything guaranteed after safety is confirmed? It'll be Shearer all over again only that Shearer couldn't save us. Surely if Benitez wants the job, he has it in his contract stating that if we avoid relegation, he stays on permenantly while relegation would mean he can walk away if he or Ashley are not interested to carry it forward.
-
Well yes maybe Charnley won't want to push McClaren out the door as he was the one who appointed him. I think Charnley should take this chance to sack McClaren and get a really good manager in to secure his own ass. Stay with McClaren and the pair will be jobless in May. Sack McClaren and appoint a cheap option ala Pearson, if we are still relegated, that makes two horrendous decisions on Charnley's part. So he better make the best, logical decision or else he'll be out the door too.
-
Aye. I for one hope this will happen. At least the players can play more freely and try to atleast play without McClaren's instructions and management.
-
If it's another 48 hours, I'm done F5ing. It was understandable they didn't do it on Sunday, then they were off yesterday, but not again today? Just release a fucking statement man! Is he sacked or backed?
-
Tbf, I wouldn't mind that. Atleast I can go on and live normally again rather than constantly refreshing this page and twitter for the past 3 days. Atleast it would make me finally stop caring for the season as no sacking=relegation. Put us out of our misery for good.
-
Should change thread title to Steve 'Carless' McClaren
-
If Ashley and his fellow moonheads were thinking of the future and line their pockets even further, they should go all out and pay whatever the top managers out there like Rafa wants and get the payoff from the guaranteed tv money if relegation is avoided.
-
Morning everyone. Another day of F5ing this page and twitter for me and probably many others. For starters, Sky going with today being D-Day for McClaren.
-
They've said that since 11 this morning.
-
Anyone want to guess which page will we be on when we get a confirmed decision whether he stays or go? I've spent the past 2 days now F5ing this page. Lost the apetite to do it for another day.
-
Well done. Legend. Should let the players, McClaren and the whole stinking board read that.
-
Agree with that. They're making sure that the replacement is there before sacking McClaren. No other reason why they haven't put out a simple daft statement saying McClaren to stay until the end of the season with full backing of the board. Stretch this 'silent' period back to that Chelsea thumping and you could see they're not backing him like they backed Pardew and Carver.
-
Ffs. Any reason why Pearson is num 2? Where did any strong links for him come from anyways?
-
Had a horrific idea. McClaren begs to stay so he can try save us and salvage his reputation. Failing to do so, Ashley can sack him without any compensation to be paid.
