  1. Great technical ability and can cover many positions?
  2. That's just Ba in a wig. Just what I was thinking too.
  3. Pretty much agree though. We need not only more youth, but more local lads.
  4. Hey, don't forget Hatem too! But I agree, we're buying the winning mentality as well as the ones limited by the scope of their current team. It all bodes well for us. P.S. that lad with a lightbulb shaped head also came from a winning team iirc
  5. Possibly why there's no turbulence so far tbh. Edit:
  6. Explains these comments on another forum then Worse than RTG Coloccini and tiote zero technical ability ffs.
  7. These moments when a signing could be imminent and the thread is updated almost every second man.
  8. It's nice that you're thinking ahead positively mate.
  9. Argentina style, LIKE. Better do alphabetical like them tbh.
  10. Yeah, I know, crazy. How will we survive? We love the inverted numbers I must say. A right back at 5, a CB at 2, our creative midfielder at 4. Also found santon's odd at first till I realized we were to stick him at the left.
  11. The Simpson hate is understandable but to now suggest Jonas would be a better fullback is ridiculous IMO. He was bummed by Bellers against Liverpool last time out iirc.
  12. Gonna be a bit daft if he gets 7 or 8 while cabs sticks with 4 like.
  13. Just seen "Reports: NUFC agree..." now. Such a pleasant sight.

    Shola Ameobi

And onto Facebook that shall go  Funny how this thread could rival the paint/meme thread with all those epic Shola pics.

    NUFC Kits

Aye. She tore my PL patches in the 07/08 one on the first wash. First sign we were not staying in the PL.
  16. Wrong thread bimpy? Cracking collection mind.
  17. Just re-read that now, some wrong things in that, sorry. I keep associating Marv with lacking fitness after his injury-hit first season, but yeah, considering the amount of playing time he had in preseason and the clear difference in class to Obertan I think he'll get the nod. On Obertan playing in the middle, I think that's where I've seen him play best tbh. He was mint in his first game for us (Arsenal @ SJP) with his pace and height. I guess that is where his pace is best utilised given that he seems scared to beat full backs and get to the byline. Perhaps in Euro games he will play there off Shola like he did today? Obviously i'd rather see Hatem start, but if he doesn't, I am almost certain it will be Marv. And I think I'll be happy with that. For someone who has not played much competitive games with us, Marv's link up with others in the Portugal tourney was something to watch. Tidy on the ball as well. And having Obertan as the impact sub may not be too bad, given his pace and that he'll be up against tired defenders.
  18. I wouldn't mind Shola given his recent form compared to Cisse. Obertan is nailed on imo, typical of Pards to use the "lacking match fitness" excuse on the likes of Marv and Hatem. This isn't serious is it?! I won't even bother with the first sentence. Can see him using the match fitness excuse for Hatem unfortunately, but hasn't Marv actually featured quite a lot this preseason? Also, hasn't Obertan been predominantly used through the middle in pre-season, suggesting Pardew is taking a look at playing him off the striker (like he did at Arsenal away and the mackem reserve home game) rather than as a winger? 19. He must be one of those soft spot players for Pards. I know the feel, I play a 2-star rated regen in FM for the same reasons.

  21. Krul, Simo, Sayls, Colo, Santon, Marv, Cabaye, Tiote, Jonas, Ba, Cisse (4-4-2) Can't see a 433 and Hatem starting, sadly. 3-1 Win. Ba and the Gylf before HT, with Hatem and Shola coming on to win it for us.
  22. Could see this being a 5-1 to avenge our Championship win over them @ SJP. EDIT: 4-1, phew.
