Funny but pretty much makes sense if you look at it.

Best gave me a sense of security last season that we could rely on someone who is hardworking and professional enough other than Shola if we lose our best forwards. Putting all the weight on Shola just does not inspire confidence, while Campbell is too young imo to be put weight on.

We don't need to strengthen our striking department in quality. We just need depth. As I said before, the defence needs quality, the attack needs quantity.

At least his excellent form will be for our profit only.

One striker would calm everybody down imo. I think we're still too light, unless you consider Shola ready to have an injury-free season, or Campbell ready to make the step up. The fact that we have probably two of the best strikers in the league completely covers up that we have only Shola and Campbell in the wings. The difference in class/experience (for AC) there is staggering.

Really wish we made up our mind when we went for Debuchy. We seemed uncertain if we wanted to spend an extra mil on him, with the striker in mind. In the end, we may end up signing neither, which just exposes our weaknesses in both areas more.

We still have... 5-0 West Ham 1-0 at Arsenal 4-3 at Chelsea (League Cup) 2-2 at Chelsea (League) In terms of the really top draw matches I think it could rival even our most recent season imo. Joey played a huge part in most of those games too.

Yeah, agree about how the first team would feel if this one signing before the transfer window shuts doesn't happen.

More of undecided how to spend it. Deciding on whether to invest on the defence or attack took too long imo until we ran out of time.

F***ing cringe. Really sad how he's just destroyed himself. Absolutely loved him during his last season. Avoided controversy, played with grit and passion, was a real leader, was at the top of his game, and genuinely loved playing for the Toon. Look, I'm all for upping his wages but we really shouldn't be doubling them. I'd up it but not beyond what is unfair. If he's still earning Championship wages of 10k or less, I'd up it a bit but never up to the 30k mark like he wants. On the topic of Debuchy, I'm actually hoping this pulls through as I'm not sure how Cabs would react if we fail, especially with the rumours making the rounds lately.

Krul Santon Saylor Coloccini Enrique Tiote Anita/Jonas Ben Arfa Cabaye Ba Cisse How can anyone say no to that? Should it happen, I'm still undecided if I'd play Anita or reunite the three Amigos though. Leaning towards the former but still unsure.

Would love to get him out of retirement like, could use a good header of the ball.
