  1. Wee silly one for tonight. Arsenal/Bayern draw and under 2.5 in Atletico/Milan. 11/1. $10.
  2. I'll let you know at the beginning of next season. The Fellaini buy doesn't exactly give me buckets of confidence (although he's looked extremely good since coming back), however if he buys well in the summer I'll be a lot more optimistic. Hopefully he gets most of his business done before the World Cup and we can be well prepared for the new season. Europe is an absolute must next season. A decent title challenge would be nice but we'll see.
  3. 4/1 they were offering wasn't it?
  4. Tbf i don't know about Rooney but Messi has been nothing short of outstanding for Argentina over the last two years. I agree, but the criticism was major tournaments. Figure quoted is anywhere between $1billion and $1.3billion. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/457450/EXCLUSIVE-United-set-to-strike-1bn-kit-deal http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/manchester-united-seal-world-record-600million-3221922 http://www.ftbpro.com/posts/jamie.spencer/761398/manchester-united-close-to-confirming-new-600m-nike-kit-deal It's a crazy deal, but shows our pulling power. It'll be double the nearest competitor, which I think is Madrid at £31m per year.
  5. Or, in other words, you will remain envious of the club. Yes.
  6. Everybody I know was on that horse. I didn't realise the closest competitor to it was 13/1.
  7. You're aware these deals are happening with Fergie gone though right? It's unlikely we'll ever get a manager like Fergie again, but what club will? We'll be just fine.
  8. Baron Capital's purchased 9,581,636 shares of Manchester United, which were worth $151million (£90million) at the close of the market on Monday. This represents 2.5% of our total shares, putting total value of the club at £3.6billion. People really think we're going to go the way of Liverpool? New $1billion Nike deal also incoming.
  9. What do you reckon for Man United to quality at 7/4? I'm up over $100 the last week. If I come through this weeks CL unscathed I might fire $40 on us to qualify.
  10. I didn't compare him to Messi per se. I compared their international records.
  11. Irish are the hardest working man. That's clear as day.
  12. Rooney has never won the golden boot, not that means fuck all. Some of the leagues best ever strikers have never won it.
  13. He's 28 and has scored 227 goals. Be quiet, please.
  14. Scored against City this year...Scored twice away to City last year... Shall I go on? You're embarrassing yourself. You've been horribly wrong with the last couple of things you said. You should have just said you don't think Rooney is World Class and then shut up.
  15. http://blogimages.thescore.com/counterattack/files/2011/02/Wayne-Rooney-bicycle-kick-goal1-590x260.jpg You'd think he barely scored when he was our striker or something. When he played up top for us he scored over 100 goals in 4 seasons. Shearer's record is under threat by a deep forward who was only "very good" when playing up top?
  16. I hate the sudden disregard for the importance of qualifiers when judging a player as well. It's as if you don't need to win them to get into the major tournaments.
  17. Wrong again. So Wayne Rooney has scored in any of his 3 finals? Messi has 2 in 2 IIRC. Yes, Rooney scored in his last one. Didn't you see the pic conveniently posted to refresh your selective memory?
  18. You can think of only a couple of massive moments from Rooney... seriously? Name them for me please.
  19. I wouldn't have brought club form into it except people childishly bring up the "when does he do it in big times" argument. Sturridge should absolutely play up top for England like, but Rooney starts. No question.
  20. I thought you said you were thinking he shouldn't even go. I'm not even annoyed at you now anyway.
  21. Seriously I can see why so many people disagree with you now like. This is the most juvenile argument people have. People even say it about Ronaldo ffs. Wayne Rooney contributes massively in EVERY game he plays for us. The team in general has been shit this year, mainly down to shit tactics, but when we play poor Rooney is the only one who stands out. He's the one who looks the most likely and is the one with the most fight. In the rare occasions this year when the team has played well, it's all been Wayne Rooney, as evidenced by his double digits goals and assists tally in the league. Don't forget his performances in Europe as well. Sure we had a bad result against Olympiacos but Rooney was devastating in the groups stages. I suppose 5-0 away to Bayer Leverkusen is an average result now, where he set up 4 of the goals? Seriously man, denial. Get out of your fucking cages. You need to watch a full game of Manchester United's instead of catching highlights on Match of the Day 2 and forming opinions based on that.
  22. Messi was very good in the last world cup except against Germany. This was generally accepted at the time but people seem to have forgotten this He played OK by his standards. Messi should be scoring, especially at that stage of his career when he was undoubtedly the best player in the World. In the opening game he was trying to score from all angles too against Nigeria, a game they only won 1-0. That was an easy group by the way. You may as well have said he was good in the World Cup except when they needed him most, i.e. against Germany.
