  1. I usually find Nike wider than Adidas. Only two brands I wear. Now Ashley has gone you don’t even need to boycott Sports Direct any longer ?
  2. Disagree personally. I think you are looking far to deeply into their actions. Let them have their bit fun. Life’s hard enough as it is.
  3. What’s actually wrong with getting dressed up out of interest?
  4. Nothing to do with his ability. Just him as a person. I’ve been around the block enough times to have a feel for when a manager would “gets us” and the fans taking to him. Not sure he would personally hence my thinking. Unlike Rafa SBR CH KK. One of those unquantifiable things I suppose.
  5. Liverpool’s money came from their mega rich owners (I think called the Robinsons but may be wrong) who owned the National pools coupons. Basically the 70’s/80’s version of the current National Lottery. They as a club had a great succession plan (The boot room) but make no mistake they were also the club with the wealthiest backers. They probably would’ve dominated even longer if it wasn’t for the fact the back pass to the GK was ruled out which brought an end to their success in the league until they won it under Klopp.
  6. Not sure Conte would “fit” as good as he obviously is.
  7. Interesting reading the various takes on Martinez’s time at Everton. Thought it was pretty straightforward myself. They were great to watch in his first season then he got a couple of key defensive injuries long term and looked more vulnerable. The DM he brought in from Wigan getting injured in the second season if Iirc particular hitting then hard. Still disappointed this all didn’t go through in time to grab Rafa as he was a great fit and feel he would’ve helped AS and her husband as they review the club from top to bottom.
  8. For all those in here who’ve bitched and moaned about Wraith, Keith, NUST etc etc… nows your chance to step up to the plate yourselves. Don’t waste it:

Yes but had sold out both nights way before the CL had been drawn. I’m just glad I saw/met them before they released their first album ? Also another weird issue iirc was there was a big seating dispute at the time as UEFA insisted on advertising in certain areas of the ground which not only reduced the capacity by a few thousand but also give the club the problem of allocating those who’d usually sit in their normal seats a relocation headache which wasn’t handled particularly well pissing quite a few off at the time if I recall.

If I’m reading this right you are suggesting what Spurs did? If so not really as it couldn’t be done within the close season. Not sure the Makems would share their ground ? The idea was to play as normal at SJP whilst building the new SJP alongside it. If I’m reading it the other way that was the plan. The ground was never going to be built at the arse end of the Moor. Unless that was an exaggeration ?
  11. Apparently at least one club asked the question of the EPL board why have you not resigned. Still makes me laugh that the other clubs are upset with the fact they weren’t given any warning of its approval. Cartel indeed.

That was the beauty of the plans. The open space would’ve been more central and visible so I’d argue used more regularly as people would pass through it to get to the ground at least never mind it being based nearer shops and pubs etc. As it stands it’s in no mans land. Lived in the area all my life and I hardly ever frequent it currently.

The issue with the lower take up was that the club originally forced you to buy the tickets as a group of 3 up front at a marked up price for all the group games. Fans had already stumped up money for Bonds and STs and believe it or not but Barcelona are seen amongst fans now a much bigger deal then they did then. It was the glamour team of the group I agree but it also fell on the same night as the biggest British band there’s been since arguably The Beatles were playing half a mile away for the first time at the Arena (Oasis).

The Freeman at the time where all for the ground re-build on the Leazes and would like to think we would still be as supportive if put to us. I’d say my only ever so slight concern would be is the makeup of the membership of the Freeman has changed a lot since then. So when it was originally proposed for example ALL Freeman were male due to how the whole purpose of it was meant to originally work (I.e. keep the family name of those families that defended the City walls in short) and in turn a very very high degree of interest in NUFC. Over a decade ago they opened up the Freeman to woman and the membership I’d say is more 50/50 which for the long term was important as ultimately it would slowly diminish and die out due to modern day smaller families and obviously the 50/50 chance of having a girl so would not end at those who just had one girl for example. Obviously that shouldn’t mean a thing a probably won’t and certainly shouldn’t as the original plans were fantastic when they were brought to us. I certainly don’t want to come across sexist but the fact of that matter was originally you would’ve had an extremely high percentage of match goers at the time of the the vote whereas I wouldn’t think that’s the case now that’s all as more and more are living out of the region. Hope that helps.
  15. Out of interest did Favre do a U-Turn on Palace before or after Benitez went to Everton?
  16. I’ve mentioned this before but I find Simon Jordan one of the straightest and most knowledgeable people in the media. You might not always agree with what he says. He might not always be right and maybe he can be guilty of going a bit easy on people he likes. But surely that applies to us all. If you listen to his shows in full rather than the odd sound bite you’d of realised he’s been for the takeover from the beginning. Did he think at one point it was dead? Yes. So did many on here and confidence even dipped with the likes of Steve Wraith & Keith Pattinson along with many others. Never see him as a WUM and he actually goes to lengths in criticising his co host Jim White and the rest of the media for click bait and goading journalism etc along with all the bullshit and parasites that attach themselves to football along with not shying away from criticising fans and their hypocrisy. Also most importantly he’s quick to hold his hands up when he gets it wrong. Just my opinion like but you can tell he learnt a lot from his time owning a club. The good and the bad along with many mistakes he made ?‍♂️
  17. @Unbelievable Was also down to a lot of hard work by yourself setting things up. Good to see that banner again. Forgotten I’d left it with you as your Christmas present when I visited. Seems so long ago. Dread to think how big your kids are now. 2015? ?
  18. Word is announcement in 30mins.

  20. Got a massive round of applause. I’m here for a bit longer but it’s done it’s job as always.
  21. Anyone in town now? Have just popped over myself to get the vibes. Might even have a banner with me…
  22. Thought Emil spoke brilliantly personally.
