If it’s from our side to apply pressure on UE I’d be disappointed and would explain his reaction. There’s no real secrets in football these days due to social media etc but until the club says anything or there’s a sighting it’s always safest to take with a large dose of scepticism. As much as he annoys people just like the takeover Luke Edwards approach has proven correct again. That’s why it concerns me the others reporting it as getting done today were briefed from the club as if you end up with Howe you’ll end up with a lot of disappointment and what ifs and also some embarrassment as it’s with cap in hand. Big 24hrs for the club but seems a lot of work to be done to get UE in before Brighton. Not ruling out the international break but slightly more worryingly I’m not ruling out EH either. What is very clear is the timing of the takeover has been a bit of a nightmare for the short term. Wouldn’t surprise me if the EPL had played their part in the fixtures either ?

Not doubting his managerial credentials but just have that feeling he won’t be great fit for the average NUFC fan. Hopefully he’s more charismatic than the few interviews I’ve seen him give but he seems very lacking in what the fan base usually latch on to. The Geordie’s have always liked a charmer. Personally would’ve preferred someone with no previous ties to a British Club but of all the ones who have then he’s clearly the best choice.

There might be some logic in that theory but like I discovered the statement was clearly prepared earlier and weirdly release by the clubs Twitter later than various journalists. I agree regarding KIO’s approach… Like I said above but maybe didn’t make it clear I thought their approach was opportunist and not thought out and (like you say) they played it out in the media which lost them a little credibility IMO. Hopefully the club and fans can move on from it all ?? But it’s a sign of things to come sadly.

Dan Roan had done a compare and contrast Tweet about it at (Saturday) 15:27 so I think it’s went out before KO and has slowly filtered through during the first half. Point taken though that it was late in the day for those going to the CP game. Exactly my sentiments. They would’ve been best off not releasing anything after the KIO meeting and let the dust settle and get the lay of the land but in the main concentrate on the football.

Not really because the initial statement and my post had dozens of people commenting on here and even before both we had dozens of posts going over many pages on here about it. This statement come out and we’ve had one person saying they’d missed it and I’ve had your one and only response so far and the statements been out the whole weekend. Thats untrue also as the original statement came out after the Spurs game only after KIO had approached them and we’ve not had a game for anyone to defy the club’s request before the U-Turn prior to the Crystal Palace game. So having another dig at people dressing up is misplaced as the club had ok’d it and rightfully so. My main point all along was it was harmless fun and would eventually die off and the original statement was clearly put out against what they really thought about it all and simply a reaction to KIO. Ive nothing against KIO and support most of what they do but on this occasion I felt they got involved for the wrong reasons due to the profile of the takeover. Let’s hope now the club have ok’d it that people can except those having a little bit of fun in their lives is exactly what they are doing rather than cast them as idiots.

Probably because there was a lot of people (on here in particular) who ridiculed those just having some harmless fun and claim it be offensive on behalf of others not wanting to make so much noise about it when it turns out there never was anything offensive about it or anyone offended by it. I pointed out that from the wording of the original statement it was obvious it was just arse covering after the KIO stuck their nose in. Very impressed the club has clarified their statement but it was always clear to me they never really wanted to put it out in the first place and nor should they of had to.

Considering this was the very same ground that the stewards wouldn’t let me take in a banner saying “Sports Redirect” on the grounds it could incite trouble leading me to have to smuggle it in for a very quick appearance before they forced its removal I’m surprised this one got the green light. Or perhaps I shouldn’t be with what’s going on in the boardrooms of the other clubs.

Jim White said he’d been hearing DOF not until summer and Craig Hope confirmed on his show he was hearing the same. Hope said he’d be surprised if Fonseca was announced in next 24hrs which seems to be backed up with Jones saying he’s in charge for the Chelsea game.

Jones has confirmed he’s in charge for Saturday and Chelsea. Reports are DOF won’t arrive until summer.

In fairness I fully accept that was a rare post of mine that I based on knowing absolutely nothing ? Didn’t realise he’d had the job that long? Thought it was EVDS who got the credit ?‍♂️
