Shelvey, Merino, Lascelles, Gayle Win -
His ball to Perez near the end was a nice reminder that he isn't rubbish like.

Hayden looks like he should be your typical Mr Reliable but he's been shite a lot this season like.

The only think I can think of is he's absolutely set on this rotation and fitness policy as well as judging everything in training. It probably works when you have more than like 3 good players. It just seems to me that, when fit, Gayle, Shelvey, Merino & Lascelles should play every game without fail. The alternatives have the capability to be just as bad but their ceiling is a lot lower.

Rafa needs to swallow his pride and bring back the Ginger Pirlo.

It's as if Darlow had read the Elliott thread and thought his pal needed a bit of a hand.

Think Rafa knows Gayle is our best chance of scoring a goal but doesn't think he'll be able to hold the ball up or win headers which is why we see Joselu next to him and 4-4-2 That makes sense judging off today, Gayle was great because pretty much every time the ball came to him he got it under control, played it to someone and made a run. If he's isolated that's a lot harder. Not that I think 4-4-2 is the only way to not leave a striker isolated like, and tbh we looked far better when we couldn't buy a goal from open play but also didn't concede, than now were we sort of can score but we concede like 3 goals a game.

Both him and Clark have been utter shite together. I hope it's as simple as them both just needing a leader alongside them as before Lascelles' injury they were both fine. -
Haven't most goals come from the wings since the Man Utd game? The crosses in come into an area Shelvey should be covering according to them. And based on the replays they were not wrong. Man Utd's 2nd I think was, I cannot remember the rest but I'll take your word for it. He probably played some blame but we're so weak defensively that I think blaming anyone for letting the ball come in is harsh like. Our defenders inability to challenge in the area is the biggest problem imo.
