I think he's struggling because he's 21 and in a new league more than service, I think he'll get better. We're shit, but any half decent Prem striker gets more than 3 in 16 for us. Gini has scored 4 headers alone and is about 3 foot tall. I think more than 2 wingers either side he needs a proper strike partner who can play on the last defender, Perez could probably do it but we keep expecting him to come deep and get involved.

I don't see it at all tbh, I think a lot of this is derived from the fact he's a 'football hardman.' He's really good at holding off defenders but he's never looked a player who's going to thrive off balls in to me, no more than any other striker anyway. His technique heading the ball looks good like.

I remember Carroll as a different player when he was at us though, whether he was just young an hungry or if he just cared more when he was here. He used to be all over the front line. I remember when we got battered off Bolton and he was the only player still chasing every ball. Never really seen that since though.

This, aye. We constantly come up with complaints and argue what we would have done/what he should have done (ie most of us wanted to got 4-4-2 after the 4-5-1 didn't work, and that didn't work either) but he just looks completely void of ideas. We're losing nothing by not switching things up.

He's only the obvious choice because he's just had a good game though, you could make a case for playing literally anyone in midfield ahead of Colback and Anita because they're fucking awful. If he has a shit game today, which was highly possible, this conversation wouldn't even be happening.

What are you talking about man, Tiote has been absolutely shite for ages. You cannot lord over people because he hasn't been played like, you had absolutely no idea that he would play well today so stop acting like it was an obvious decision, he's had about 3 good games in as many years. Granted he was like Tiote of old today, if he keeps it up it's a no brainer. If he doesn't then meh.

Carroll is light-years ahead of Mitrovic in the air like. Our main outlet in attack is Janmaat and Sissoko flinging shite in from the right, Carroll would be far more suited to dealing with it. Not saying he would be amazing like, but Mitrovic isn't going to dominate any CB pairing in the air like Carroll can.
