  1. Why are we even discussing this? He's not going anywhere today, why would he?
  2. And what would that be? (The goal was wide open.)
  3. Despite clear footage to the contrary. Ok then... Aye you could see Pardew going nuts on the sidelines in the last 15 or 20 minutes because of the hoofing. It clearly wasn't a gameplan at all, and just the sign of a nervous team desperate for a win. The first half performance was entirely down to luck too. The first half performance was down to Pardew setting us up well, as he did against Reading. The 2nd half performance was down to him undoing his good work. Really? I think it was more to do with us not being able to weather the (somewhat inevitable) storm with a couple of poor decisions (one from Debuchy in particular). You watch the premiership every week, and you see a losing team spring out the traps second half all the time. It's about weathering the storm for more than a couple of minutes. I have no doubt that if we had made it to about 60 mins without conceding we would have won much more comfortably. Villa would have burnt out and we would have started playing again. As it was, we shot ourselves in the foot 3 mins into the second half, which set us on the back foot for the rest of the game. You may be right, but I've never seen Villa dominate to such an extent over a 50 minute period.
  4. Pardew put Cisse on the wing, Shola up top by himself, Mbiwa into central midfield and removed our pace in Gouffran when they were pressing us high. The team weren't exactly going to perform like a well oiled machine in fairness.

If he wants to keep us up he needs to sort it out as 45 minutes of good football against poor sides isn't going to be enough.
  6. draws ain't good enough and they can't just defend in the box against everyone I hope to fucking God Pardew missed the game
  7. What? Couldn't have timed it better more like. Imagine the pressure for those two matches if we'd lost yesterday. It's obvious what I meant like, the "1st victory" would have been far better had it preceded a couple of winnable games as it would give us good chance to get on a decent run. It was just a throwaway comment to highlight the point that Neil made.
  8. We probably couldn't have timed the victory worse like with the upcoming 2 fixtures but the points were badly needed. 2-3 points against Chelsea and Spurs is doable if Pardew doesn't shit his nickers if/when we take the lead. Do what we did against Reading and Villa against either of those 2 though and they'll probably hit back with 3-4. I'm not even entertaining the notion of 0 points and another bad run, it cannot happen.
  9. It's mental man, they were sitting on the half way line and we had Shola Ameobi in line with them
  10. Aye we needed the win so bad, we cannot rewrite the past half of the season but hopefully this is the massive boost we need to kick on. Finish in a respectable position and do well on the continent and I'll be happy.
  11. Knocking his finish for going through the keepers legs man He got into position and finished it well, it wasn't an emphatic thunderbastard in under the postage stamp - which we know he is capable of - but he did what was needed, had he tried to curl one either side of the keeper or tried to power it past him he may have got a hand to it (last week for example), he may not have, we don't know. What we do know is that this week his name was on the score sheet.
  12. He's probably taking over Gabby's place in the squad like but there's no need to constantly throw digs at the lad, he's looked far better this season anyway, albeit sporadically.
  13. Could be, the Arsenal game was expected as they had a massive rest but the contrast in fatigue between our players and Manchester United on Boxing Day was clear as day. There's no excuse for our players being unfitter than theirs either, if that was the case. I remember Keegan saying something about us not really working on tactics pre-season, but were just getting our squad as fit as possible.
  14. I hope this has shades of Norwich last season though, we sat on a 1 goal lead from about the 15 minute then when we needed a win but were massively improved after it.
  15. It does my tits in when people come out with shite like that, "Villa were losing at half time so it is expected that they come out of the blocks flying, force 2 excellent saves within 2 minutes and then win a penalty". We came out for the second half with the intention of sitting back on our advantage and it almost backfired again.
  16. I love all of his celebrations, the Man U one was the best though, he just carries himself with such affirmity.
  17. His Plan A for when we're both ahead and behind is Shola, it makes no sense at all.
  18. We had a centre back in middle of the pitch man, what more do you need to know? Most managers see the gaping hole behind a defence sitting on the half way line and make an attacking change to counter it, Pardew just packs our box with random defensive players and tells them all to sky it towards the battering ram on his tod. Predictably we lose the ball and this whole process is repeated.

They actually booed a transfer target? That's insane.
  20. "Sissoko wasn't good in the first half, it was just Villa being shite that made him look that way"
  21. Incredibly harsh. They were far better in the second half, we just never adjusted to it and allowed them to tear us apart for the entire 45+ minutes.
  22. He said something along the lines of "We kicked it longer than them" as a positive of our style in the game iirc, he never directly said "Pardew is a mess"
  23. I'm now onto the theory that it's just part of some BANTER Pardew and Carver have tbh "Haha Alan, I dickie dare you to send Ameobi on again!" "I will John" "You won't like" "Yes I will you watch" "Nee way man Alan, not this week, not again!" "SHOLA! Warm up son!"
