  1. Could say that about ant journalist though.
  2. Contracts signed between Ashley and PCP so journalists can go on all day long about another bid. Makes no difference at the minute.
  3. Interesting. It will also be interesting to read what that football law twitter account has to say as he said he's doing a write up on the WTO report which will be out done by tomorrow.
  4. I've said that many a time but still find myself on Twitter and on here all day from getting up at 5am for work until going to sleep at 10-11. 1 thing I will say mind, I'm not remotely interested in project restart or any of our games. Literally just don't care about either. If this falls through it'll end my love of football completely. Bet it doesnt Hard to say long term to be honest but jesus christ it will take a while to come around from it.

  6. "The World Trade Organisation has ruled that Saudi Arabia was behind a pirate satellite TV and streaming service that illegally broadcast sporting events" But they haven't though, have they? They've established that Saudi Arabia didn't do enough to stop it, not that SA was behind the illegal broadcasts. That's what I was thinking. Their headline is bullshit.
  7. I suppose the next few days will be telling. If they are going to knock it back, it'll be in the next few days. If they still haven't then surely this suggests they're looking for a solution?
  8. No. That’s just why Saudi sent to WTO. Thought that's what it might have been.
  9. I dont know what this is or if its relevant but ive been sent a PDF file with 34 pages that is apparently on the Saudi government website. Here's a few screenshots
  10. Is it being released to the public tomorrow? It is not. So what is the significance of tomorrow and the WTO? Report is released to the interested parties involved with the dispute And apparently this is what the premier league have been waiting for before approving/rejecting the takeover?

  12. I really am dreading what this report has in it tomorrow. I'm preparing myself for the worst based purely on I don't want to build my own Hope's up.
  13. Wasn't it the Athletic? You're missing the point though, it might be a win against Saudi Arabia for Qatar, but it still doesn't mean the takeover will be blocked. Not if the PIF are seen as a separate entity. Also, which I posted above... This ruling looks like it might be just to say Saudi didn't do enough to stop piracy not that they were actually behind it which is explained in that twitter thread by Ben Jacobs.
  14. I'm thinking the latter. You do get the sense that things have been stalled in line with this WTO release. I guess we’ll have to wait and see ? It still all depends on the legal status of PIF being a separate entity, if, and it looks like they are a separate entity, then it should go through. It’s worth reading the legal opinion of a barrister, not the entire report, the conclusion. Mind it’s only a legal opinion but has much more substance than claims on here that it’s part of the Saudi state. https://www.footballlaw.co.uk/articles/newcastle-united-fc-takeover-and-the-premier-leagues-owners-and-directors-test That last bit. ∆ On 2 June 2020 Qatari- and Saudi- based lawyers provided confirmation to this author that KSA PIF is a separate legal entity.
  15. Is this WTO report going to be made public? Is the best case scenario that the report says they could have done more to stop it rather than they were behind it? And even if the report does say the Saudis are behind it, will it matter anyway if PIF aren't mentioned in it?
  16. So if they’re independent the PL can’t use the report to block the deal. Yeah, I'm sure the PL will just take their word for it. That will be in the hands of both sets of lawyers to establish that. Maybe that's what they're waiting for? If the WTO report rules against KSA and not PIF, then the PL can approve the deal and point to the WTO report which states its KSA who is responsible for piracy and not PIF who are buying NUFC (initials all over there).
  17. Got me canny baffled this WTO report. So it means nothing but both sides can appeal which again makes it mean nothing, but the PL are waiting for it to be published so they can approve/reject the deal. Sense all over right there.
