  1. People love to criticize everything mind.

Seems perfectly sensible to wait until after the window closes. If the club isn't sold and players aren't bought protests will renew with some vigour and I'm sure more people will be willing to join in.

Yep. Also prevents Ashley from blaming fan negativity should a takeover not materialise. People responding to TMG with vitriol doesn't bode well for the future, mind.

Correct. It was going to be a pathetic attempt at a boycott, calling off is the best approach. Need to strike while the iron is hot with these things and in the end it all petered out.

If another disaster of a window goes by, which it will, form drops and Ashley remains, the appetite will be there again in February.

Not calling it in the first place would have been the best option imo. It being called off doesn't look good after its been announced, but it's a good excuse for a face-saving cancellation of it. It's more their integrity that's the worry now because they've essentially pissed off both sides of the boycott debate now.

Once there's a genuine appetite for it I'm sure it'll be forgotten though.

The Magpie Group needs disbanding now IMO. Their hearts are in the right place but cancelling protests after announcing them means they have lost their credibility. I wouldn't blindly throw my support behind them like I have done in the past.

  2.

A combined loss of £9.08m. Despite him making a profit of around £50m over 4 transfer windows. Ashley's stupidity really knows no bounds, he's going to lose far, far, far more once Rafa leaves.

£1.08m on Murphy, a player who massively helped us gain promotion.

    Gamez was free.

    £3m on Lazaar.

    £5m on Sels

Didn't we get about £4million back for Sels? £1million in today's market is nothing.

  3. Not being funny, but a few more bad results and the fat c*** might start getting an itchy trigger finger on a sacking. Which would not surprise me in the slightest.

We're only a Rafa resigning away from the club imploding IMO. I think Ashley realises this and is why he's after a quick sale. No way is he getting sacked at this stage.

  4. I've just moved to the corner! Never mind. See what next season is like then make a decision whether to move again. Hope it's still a good atmosphere in the corner as the view from there is much better than Gallowgate upper IMO.

  5. Arsenal will buy him, he'll play five games and then watch champions league football from their bench.

Will be delighted to see the back of him. He's perhaps the most frustrating player I ever remember playing for us.

  6. I dinnar, checked and we aren't paying owt out of the bank. Told them on the phone when they rang in the summer that we're cancelling and that's why the DD has stopped. Still sent us the c***s.

I'd be careful. If you didn't cancel officially by letter and just stopped the DD and then go on to use your season ticket, then the club may be able to prove that you owe them back payments for the months you didn't pay them.

  7. Yesterday was all round the worst away game I've been to. What happened on the pitch need no further comment. But there's a section of our fans that are just arseholes. The fighting after the game was shocking, one young lad got full on kicked in the face whilst on the floor against the railings. Then the paedophile chants all game, great way to represent the club, maybe we have the team we deserve.

  8. Cancelled my dd the other day, got a shitty letter saying my smart cards have been deactivated immediately !!

Called the box office to ask what was going on and they said i could go for the rest of the season as had paid it up.  The woman sounded totally beaten, I think they are getting s*** daily.  I asked her if anyone actually cared that I hadn't renewed? Impression i got that some care but no one higher gave a f***.  Had 2 tickets in my family for 30 years, give or take.  Next season - none.

I told her Id be back if and when i saw big changes, she said loads had said that.  She was really apologetic, she'll never last with a caring attitude like that!!!

Did you let the club know first that you didn't want to renew? I'm thinking of cancelling my DD now (missed the deadline for officially cancelling) but still want to go to the matches I have paid for.

  9. Clearly the brand design matters little in them shifting cheap sporting goods.

The SD logo fits the brand perfectly. It looks cheap and shite, and most of the gear they sell in there is cheap and shite......and now it makes our stadium look cheap and shite  :'(

  10. Poland's big chance of showcasing itself the world is now ruined by all these racist acts going on. Think it media hype has put it to the forefront of peoples minds and makes these idiots much more likely to do it. Such a shame because I've been there many times, I'm part Polish, and I've never been aware of any problems of this kind at all. I am aware that these neo-nazi groups do exist in Poland, which I find quite baffling considering its history and what my grandfather fought against. Just hope people don't stereotype all Polish people as being racists.

  11. Yh Lewandowski works really hard and drags CB's all over the place but if the service isnt there those runs he makes will end up being rather pointless and he will be doing that work for nothing.....

If Poland had a legit creative source behind him like he does at club level than i would consider putting some money on him but iam not sure they do.

He'll be linking up with blaszczykowski who plays with him at Dortmund. Both of them are Poland's most important players.

It's difficult to gauge how well Poland will do given that they haven't played a competitive game for so long. Some of the friendly results look good, only lost two in their last nineteen games, although most of them have been at home and they've had a lot of draws. think they'll get through the groups but then germany or holland await.

  12. :fwap: awesome!

How much did they set you back?

As an aside, Ridman, I'm hoping to travel through Poland at some point during the tournament. Where would you recommend that will be buzzing during the competition? Really, really want to go to Wroclaw but the guy I'm travelling with went last year so might not be keen (he's not a massive football fan either, the bellend).

I've been to Poland a fair bit and would imagine the host cities; Warsaw, Poznan, Gdansk and Wroclaw will all be great. I heard that Warsaw will have the largest ever fan zone and can imagine the atmosphere will be unreal. Gdansk and Wroclaw are both beautiful cities and are usually buzzing in the summer anyway. And I was in Krakow in 2008 when the last Euros and the atmosphere was great then. They had an outdoor area with a large screen and stands built up, loads of different nationalities enjoying the games together. Plus the centre of Krakow is all geared up for tourists these days.

I can't afford to make it over this year, but if you do go you will have an amazing time and most people are surprised how nice the country is.
