  1. It’s total guesswork ofcourse but my hunch is Spurs are probably more willing to budge on asking price. There’s pressure on them to bring players in after a poor end to the season. It seems we are interested but we probably have other targets including that Dominic lad and as ohmelads says above has aspects that probably make him more favourable. We have our price in mind and if Leicester don’t budge we’ll move on. That said I do find it amusing when you see some fans saying re Maddison “nah fuck him, he’s clearly not interested” or “he’s shite anyway” ?. He’s clearly class and the type of player we need but he’s also allowed to keep his options open. I think he’d be a great signing but Im not concerned one bit. If he ends up here it’ll be because he was our main target, but if he doesn’t we’ve gone after someone else who fits the bill better. What will will be. Fans seem to get fixated on certain players on windows, it was Paqueta last summer. Just let the club do their thing and enjoy the fact we’re finally signing players.
  2. I thought it was 70k as he was looking to double his wages
  3. I think it’ll be quite fluid, he can play 6 or 8 like Bruno. May change depending on who we play and ofcourse injuries. I think if we can get that Dominic lad we might swerve Maddison but I’m happy with either really. We Definitely need someone to open teams up at home though and turn draws into wins.
  4. Speaking to an Italian mate in London last night (well his parents are Italian). He supports Napoli but he was raving about him. Proper leader type character who will battle but also has more to his game than that. Was saying perfect foil to Bruno as others have already said and stick Joelinton in there as well and that’s a midfield that can truly dominate other teams. Sounded good to me really ?
  5. Endless hours of analysis from the club goes into signing these players. They had an amazing success rate with signings so far. The lad appears to be one of the most coveted midfielders in Europe, a leader for AC Milan whose played in the champions league. why is anyone bothered about Lavia ffs?
  6. He seems ideal really, looks like a bit of a leader too.
  7. Yeah I think 3 quality signings - this lad (or similar type of player, an attacking midfielder/winger and a left back. Then wheeling and dealing for others and depending on sales
  8. Not a natural athlete? Lol What exactly are you looking for? He’s a creative attacking who can pull something out of his arse to win games. Granted the discussion about whether he’s number 1 priority is a good and a separate discussion
  9. If we look to sign Maddison Howe will be pretty clear where he might play and where he can adapt his role too. How he might change formation to utilise his skills in certain games breaking teams down. The level of analysis that goes into signing our players now it doesn’t concern me one iota. If he signs they’ll know exactly how they plan to utilise him.
  10. Caulkin said at true faith evening Maddison would be the one player he’d like the club to sign this summer when asked to name one player
  11. I think a new attacking LB is crucial to developing our play to help break teams down at home against a defensive set up and to improve our options in the champions league. Dan Burn has been excellent for us from a defensive point of view but I just don’t see him as the answer moving forwards. I think we need someone linking up on that left side note and providing more of an attacking threat. The team and our style of play will improve and bringing in a left back will be part of that I think. I agree though it’ll be interesting to see what Howe does with Targett moving forwards. I thought he would become the back up left back behind a new signing (occasional league games, cup matches etc) but his lack of game time the season just gone makes you wonder what Howe thinks of him moving forwards. That said he was injured for a fair chunk so that’s probably had an impact. We do need numbers for a sways though with so many games.
  12. There’s the spirit ?
  13. His through ball play to strikers on the counter is quality to be fair
  14. Im sure I read that the price and wages were possibly a stumbling block for the Hungarian lad which makes an early purchase or one in general quite difficult I’ve seen some stuff on Facebook and Twitter with people going down the “no other player is good enough other than Szoboolai” or whatever he’s called similar to Paqueta last summer ?
  15. Have a missed something, has there been some concrete new information?
  16. His interaction with our current England players at the England camp seemed to hint towards him being keen really. I mean from a purely footballing decision it seems a no brainer for him if it’s a choice between us and Spurs. What I like about him is he’s pretty versatile and in games where we’re trying to break teams down at home (and there’ll be plenty of those) and need to switch formation eg 4231 he’s ideal for that.
  17. I think if they think they can genuinely get him then he’ll be one of the star signings and a player they’d probably choose over someone like Maddison. That’s just a hunch and not based on anything.
  18. Like the fat Man United fan from the South coast transfer news oracle “Crooky”. Aye right
  19. Aye I heard that, probably as reliable as me making up a rumour though ?
  20. Yes it may come down to some personal stuff, wife wanting to move to London or whatnot plus I agree Spurs will throw more money at him fee and wages wise because that’s the only way they’ll get him. To be fair if he goes to Spurs then it kind of simplifies things, he didn’t want to come to us anyway and maybe we aren’t that arsed. Footballing wise it seems a no brainer to come to us at the moment, in champions league, stalwart England players already here, on the up, immense home atmosphere. I think if we genuinely want him we’ll probably get him if he wants to come because Spurs are a damp squib currently.
  21. He does seem like he’s our Isak type signing for midfield. Mind Maddison also seems tailor made for us and I doubt we get both. It’ll be interesting to see how this develops
  22. Maddison makes perfect sense to me with his adaptability in a 433 or switching to 4231 in a game to break teams down. Mind it sounds like the Hungarian lad can play anywhere attacking other than number 9.
  23. ? Exactly. People need to chill, have faith, they’ve done pretty well so far haven’t they. Just think back to the windows under Ashley, that should brighten moods.
