    And they have champions league
  2. Have done for ages, surprised how many seem far more relaxed about this. If you’d said to me a few years ago Murphy and Miggy would be our designated RW options going into the 24/25 season I’d have laughed nervously.
  3. Howe isn’t going to play Barnes on the right (even tho he said he can play there last offseason) so I agree our most dangerous front 3 currently is Barnes, Isak, Gordon, no doubt about that.

Great to have a 3rd option striker now who is powerful and fast. I just hope Wilson isn’t injured so much that he’s forced to play too much.
  5. Yeah Guehi makes a huge impact on our defence and then we need another option for RW. I’d be happy with that what with Tonali coming back and the likes of Willock back fit too.
  6. Hes a different player. I think he’s a better finisher but he ls not as quick and doesn’t take players on like Gordon does. I could easily see him getting double figures in goals this season and if he hadn’t been injured I think we’d have been in Europe this season. His and Popes injury last season was critical.
  7. If Barnes is on form our best current option imo is him left and Gordon on the right against the top teams.

Completely agree. We’ve still got loads of dead wood we haven’t moved on and haven’t filled either of the two key positions everyone knows we needed to fill. There’s still time but as it stands it’s been underwhelming.

Agreed then we’ll look at some kind of deal including loan option for a RW before the window ends.

No i think we’ll score goals and if we sign Guehi then that’ll firm the defence up particularly with Pope back. Big games I still think we’ll struggle to edge things at time with the likes of Murphy and Almiron but if we don’t have the ability to bring a RW in then finances clearly are very tight, far tighter than we’d like. When did we last sign a RW ffs? 😂

No I’m happy with where things are generally, we actively try to recruit, push forwards etc. light years away from the Ashley era but unless key acquisitions come in this window it will have been a failure (and the last few weren’t great). Pressure on but I still have faith, there’s still time.

I have faith in them to get things sorted but pressure is on. Failure to cover the two main areas and the window is a failure for me.
  13. Exacrly, this far into the takeover not to have upgraded that position with anyone would be extremely disappointing (if the window passes without a new recruit)
  14. I’ll be disappointed if we don’t bring another RW in. Obviously chuffed if we can get Guehi over the line though.
  15. Surprised you aren’t able to watch it for free as a member
  16. Can’t find it anywhere on any of the nufc.com channels, will check again at 4pm
  17. Well yeah I get that, but if they sign Guehi then the available amount on a RW comes right down or isn’t available
  18. Definite starter but we know that Murphy isn’t going to do this all season is he. Great lad in great form but remember yesterday was a pre-season game. Murphy isn’t going to bother the top teams particularly away from home.
  19. I agree if you have to choose CB is more important.
  20. I’m just talking about calibre of player that’s all. I agree I’d far rather have Gordon left wing (which still makes the Barnes signing an odd one particular as Howe was quoted as saying he can play right side). I’m perfectly happy with Murphy starting to begin with, he deserves it and is in good form. But three years into the takeover or whatever it is and to still have Murphy or Miggy as our RW options if that’s what it’s going to be this season isn’t good enough for me. That’s just my opinion and yes I get the point about right CB being a critical position to fill too.
  21. Miggy hit that ridiculous purple patch when we qualified for the champions league, he’s not going to do that again. Murphy is in great form and fully deserves to start. We’ve been crying out for a better on option on the RW for ages though. Howe also said last summer that Barnes can play right but we’ve never seen that. Our best current option I think is Barnes left and Gordon right in terms of goal threat.
  22. Great he’s doing really well and I prefer watching him than Miggy but he’s still not good enough to be our starting RW if we’re aiming for top four. People are kidding themselves if they think he’s good enough.
  23. Which is a mental position to be in, that potentially we don’t have the capacity to buy two players who can start in the first team. I think outgoings will allow a new RW to come in, needs to happen too.
