  1. Longstaff being available for the run in is big for me too as he makes a huge difference in that midfield and gives the option of Joelinton in other positions.
  2. Yeah it’s completely ridiculous
  3. Liverpool have got away with it re decisions against West Ham and Spurs, that usually catches up with you. Their defence is hardly water tight either. I think they’ll beat Fulham but Brentford isn’t straightforward and they’ve been poor away from home at times and have Leicester and Villa away still. I think we’ll be fine but the longer Liverpool hang around it’s natural for people to get nervous. Beat Arsenal and it’s almost done and dusted to be fair.
  4. I agree about the solid midfielder addition who can deputise for Bruno or at least have that presence when/if he’s out and also allow him to move further forwards if playing together. It’ll be interesting to see who we get. As you say I think we bring in a starting left back, a pacey right sided centre half and another striker who may be able to play on the wing too. I do think we’ll also bring in another game changing winger in the Diaby mould. We need another goal threat who can win the big games for us. Maddison is the one name which doesn’t go away too.
  5. Huge win and a very important draw between Spurs and Manure in the context of top four. Kind of puts to bed some of the concern of Pools result last night. We need to go and put the Saints away Sunday now. Don’t be surprised if Spurs get something on Sunday too.
  6. The only issue I see is if we have a bit of a wobble the next couple of games but there’s nothing to suggest that’ll happen. Even a draw tonight and a win on Sunday would be ok. I also fancy us against Arsenal at home with a roaring atmosphere. What would really help is if Spurs players show some backbone for Mason and turn in a couple of displays tonight and on Sunday.
  7. The manner of that defeat will be hard to take, complete non-contest. They have a derby v Chelsea on Tuesday then us. St James will be fully radged up again and I don’t rate that Holding at the back for them, he changes their whole play.
  8. Our fixture at St James is a nightmare for them.
  9. Solid, routine win please. None of this Goodison crowd going bananas and their players having a worldy. Weather the initial storm, frustrate, clinical Isak finish then a second goal to kill it. Job done.
  10. I think if we win tomorrow night and beat Saints on Sunday it’s almost put to bed this week.
  11. They do also play Villa second last. They have very winnable games coming up for they were hardly conniving against Forest at the weekend. True they’re building some form but we’ll need to implode between now and the end of the season. Man Utd aren’t safe yet either though.
  12. Same here, can’t bare the idea of those cunts sneaking in.
  13. We’ll probably have to try and weather an initial barrage of flying tackles and frothing Evertonians in the stands. They have weaknesses all over the pitch so we should be able to pick them off once things settle. We’re miles better than last season but the result there last year showed it’s far from straightforward. Isak is a fucking nightmare for their defence.
  14. I agree if you stick Caicedo (or someone of that calibre) in that midfield we go up another level. Obviously we need several players but a new left back to help our overrall play a Caicedo type player and a new top notch winger improve that side immeasurably.
  15. I get what you’re saying but things get said all the time and if we signed it’ll only happen if he’s 100% committed.
  16. As shit as Spurs were our potential is scary with new additions. Willock, Longstaff, Bruno, Isak, Joelinton will only get better and Gordon is a major prospect. Adding key additions in the summer and we’ll be super strong.
  17. Our potential transfer targets will have seen that result yesterday and will see the current table. ?
  18. He’s only going to be better and we’ll also improve our attack with better wingers which will give him more space.
  19. Spurs defence is tailor made to be got at, fuck me. Look Kane and Son can have one of those days for them but if we start well and the crowd is up for it we’ll do them. I think the crowd will get to them and we can force mistakes.
  20. Spurs defence is shite and they have a few defenders out. Loris doesn’t exactly martial that defence either, there’s mistakes in him in Dier if we pressure them and the crowd is going mental.
  21. People are talking about next Wednesday being crucial and it obviously is but St James is absolutely the last place Arsenal will want to come particularly after last season. I’d back us again with a radged up St James.
  22. His recent upturn in form before getting injured again complicates things. He’s shown how valuable he can be as he adds something nobody else has and we’ve missed him the last couple of games. He also looks to be buying into Howe’s methods. The problem as ever is inconsistency with injuries and he also doesn’t score enough goals. Seemed nailed on not long ago that he’d leave but now wouldn’t be surprised if he stayed next season. Equally if they got a high bid for him I wouldn’t be that surprised if we moved him on as I think there’ll be at least 1 top winger come in. What’s his contract situation?
  23. If the season was a dead rubber now then I wouldn’t be surprised if they rested him and he had some kind of surgery. They’re clearly trying to manage it as best they can because he can still be effective and we need him for the top four push even if he’s not 100%. We've done brilliantly this season and perspective needed with yesterdays loss but it’s fairly clear where we need to strengthen to go up another level. A proper left back with pace who can help the attack, probably a number 6 type midfielder to help control games, and a top class goal scoring winger. We could probably also do with an attacking midfielder and a right sided centre half who is quick and physical too.
  24. Howe said something along the lines of deafest remind you of what’s needed to succeed etc. A radged up St James and the players with a point to prove is a perfect combination. Kane is a match winner as Son can be but Spurs are brittle and they concede goals. Properly get at them and they’ll buckle. Have to start well though, no pissing about.
